Seems MS planned well this time.360 has a HUGE list of japanese oriented games and IGN has positive impressions of the whole conference.

Holy shit thats a huge list of 360 games present at TGS2005.Not far from the PS2 list (!!!!).
MS has taken the Japanese market extremely seriously.Only 2 PS3 games so far (3 if we include DMC4).
I wonder how Sony will counter MS\'s huge presence.

i guess microsoft doesnt realize like 2% of japanese gamers are even interested
-
I saw a research somewhere done in Japan (forget where I saw it to post a link but i ll do when i ll find it) and showed a bigger percentage than that and I am sure it will increase even more after the TGS.

http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/07/12/news_6128891.html
which found that 60 percent of gamers picked Sony\'s PlayStation 3 as the next-generation console that they are looking forward to the most, but only 2 percent were interested in Microsoft\'s Xbox 360
Xbox console sold only 9,045 units throughout Japan during the first half of 2005. In comparison, the PlayStation 2 sold 1,286,882 units, and the GameCube sold 159,559 units.
:rofl::rofl:

That was the first statistics. They have done a second one
-
ooooh, they did a second one now

The latest survey conducted by the market research firm has found that the number of gamers interested in the Xbox 360 nearly tripled over the past two months, with 5.8 percent saying they have interest in the next-generation console. In a similar survey conducted in early July, only 2 percent of respondents said they were looking forward to the Xbox 360.
The one you posted was in July.In a matter of few months the number changed and it will increase even more during the TGS I believe.
-
5.8% is pathetic, which is mm\'s point.
But it\'s awesome that they\'ve signed on all the Japanese devs. I mean, they\'re doing the best they can with the cards they\'ve been dealt.
Interesting to watch.

heh yeah true it is pathetic. But I see a steady improvement on that number.Thats what my point is.Its soon to judge
-
OMFG! it\'s now 5.8% from 2%
:omg:
/calls sony and tells them to abandon all hope
-
 I like your replies sometimes.I cant deny that Sony will CRASH MS in Japan. But I wasnt aiming at a comparison between the too.
Just the MS improving in that Market.
Hmm....Now that I see my first post again I gave the faulty impression that MS would steal from Sony\'s market. But its just that despite MS having a small share of the Japanese market I am not expecting Sony to sit with their hands tied up.
I am sure they will do anything to make sure they will impress more than MS and I wonder how they will achieve that
-
Well, it\'s like a 200% increase! With these numbers MS should soon overtake the Japanese market!
MS should hire me. I\'d tell them to crank out horse sims, train sims, weird games involving sniffing the underwear of underage girls and throw in some tentacles here and there. They\'d sell all those Boxes in no time.
-
Ya know... you\'re probably right.

WTF? Why do the Japanese get a harddrive with every Xbox 360 for the equivalent of $350 USD?! Microsoft, wake up, Japan is lost to you.
-
because the japanese are fickle consumers unlike the USA
