I have some AVI files I want to put on DVDs. My computer has MyDVD on it and I put in the DVD and I hit burn and it burned but I got an error message in the end. I put the DVD and said Used space 0 bytes and free space 0bytes. I formatted the DVD and tried again and it said that there was media already on the DVD but the DVD+R is blank. I want to create a title menu, is there a good program out there that won\'t give me any bullshit? Is there anything I need to know about burning DVDs?

The program you are using is Sonic MyDVD I suppose. What version btw?
My first guess may have to do with your Hard Disk Drive. How much space left is your HDD? Does it have enough sufficient space to store MPEG-2 video before it burning.
As you can see, the AVI file will be converted to MPEG-2 by Sonic MyDVD, and after it finishes encoding. It will burned them into the disc, including title, menu and all...
I have experienced before where the disc doesn\'t burned all the way and also have encountered where the encoding just stop partway.
My guess for this have to do with hard disk drive. Just make sure there is enough space and also remember to Disk Fragmented your hard disk drive.

I usually convert my files to MPeg 2 before I go to write the DVD.

yeah, DVD videos have to be in Mpeg2 format to view on a standard DVD player. There are tons of AVI to Mpeg2 converters out there.

I am using Sonic MyDVD and its a very basic version when I got my laptop. What is a good Mpeg2 conversion software?
