Title: What is the latest on the PS3?
Post by: Mr. Kennedy on October 10, 2005, 10:44:20 AM
After E3 I haven\'t heard much about it aside from the fact that several features have been cut.  I know the expected release is sometime in March 06, but things have really gotten quiet.

Any breaking news on the PS3?  Or for that matter are there any shows coming up that will announce anything?

Nothing new other than it\'s over half a year away.  Get a 360 if you want to quench your next gen thirst ;)

I read that there might be some playable PS3 games in the next two weeks.  You know, AFTER Ken Kuturagi promised the PS3 would be playable at TGS.  Anyway, should be interesting to see some gameplay finally...

From October 22nd, the Sony sponsored “Akihabara Enta Matsuri” (Akihabara Entertainment Festival) kicks off. The week-long event will correspond to the Tokyo International Film Festival and will promote upcoming PSP/PS2 titles like Shadow of Colossus and Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C.. Gamers can access new soft via a PSP Spot at the Akihabara’s Dai Building.

The image I’ve posted was taken directly from the festival website. It reads:

Miru Taikan suru!!
at Dai Biru 2F & 7F &
eki mae hiroba
PLAYSTATION 3 no
odoroki no “saishin eizou” o jikkan shiyou!!

Here is it one more time, translated into English:

See Feel!!
at Dai Building 2nd Floor & 7th Floor &
the plaza in front of the station
Experience PlayStation 3’s
surprising “new image”!!

Geez, this is vague. “Taikan” means “feel” in a physical sense. “Odoroki” could mean either “surprising” or “amazing.” We can translate “eizou” as either “image” or even strech that to “clip.” The dictionary defintion for “jikkan shiyou” is “let’s experience it” or “let’s actually feel it.”

Okay, so does this mean real, playable PS3 games or more next gen clips? We’ve been let down before, so I’m not holding my breath. However, with Microsoft going all out for their launch, Sony could be on the attack to steal 360 thunder and give me a massive headache in the process. Thanks Sony.

Meh, even if it\'s not playable I want to see some games running on alpha kits.  I\'m so tired of the cut-scene and target render bullshit.

thanks :)

Yeah I d like to see ingame footage too.Thats where the real deal is.Not that the cut scenes like MGS4\'s didnt worth it.But I want to see the in game animation, physics, interactivity and gameplay elements.
