Title: Just one F/A22 Raptor > Cyrpus
Post by: GmanJoe on October 12, 2005, 06:14:47 PM
PHOTOS The First F/A-22 Delivery to Langley AFB --

These are great inflight photos of the F/A-22 as the first aircraft delivery was being made to Langley AFB in VA.  Langley is to be first operational AFB for the F/A-22.  It is a very beautiful AFB, located in a picturesque location, as you can see in these photos, near Norfolk and Hampton, Va.

The Aircraft flying along with the F/A-22 in several of these photos is the F-15, which will be replaced by the F/A-22.  Testing by the USAF has verified our predictions that the F/A-22 would be several times better than the F-15.

In actual inflight (simulated) combat operations against the F-15, one F/A-22 was able to operate without detection while it went head to head against (4) F-15s.  When (2) F/A-22s went against (8) F-15s, the F/A-22s scored missile hits (Kills) against each F-15 aircraft and the F/A-22s were never detected by the F-15\'s or Ground Based Radar.

Maj. Gen. Rick Lewis said: "The Raptor operated against all adversaries with virtual impunity; ground based systems couldn\'t engage and NO adversary aircraft survived!!!"

Behold the F/A-22  -- America\'s Most Advanced Fighter Aircraft for the 21st Century;

my brothers going into the airforce so hes told me all about this jet..pretty damn crazy. He had to go to florida for a couple months for a bootcamp kind of thing, and he said they were flying over his head all the time...cept he couldnt look at them or else he got reemed.

its able to point its nose down but still fly foreward (engine rotates up and down).

Another jet theyre coming out with is the JSF. http://www.simhq.com/simhq3/sims/features/library/reviews/totalwar2006/JSF.jpg

Nice 3D renders/compositing (I\'ve seen better ones though). Nice fighter jet.

Good to see that the US tax payer has been provided some (rendered) tangible evidence of their tax money put to bad a55 use....

funny to see you got kinda upset about what i said ; which is basically just the facts.

Before anyone starts about research money catering jobs ; the same tax money could have been alocated to rejunivate ( read : modernize / make environmentally healthy.. )  the US\' old iron & coal industries ; would have helped to sign a certain Kyoto agreement.

Kyoto Agreement is a farce since Russia and China would have been exempt from spending huge amount of money of culling pollution while the US would have had to. Raptor > Kyoto agreement.

And why do you think the photos above are rendered? Would have been cheaper and easier just to take photos from an F-15.

1st of all I had hoped you were joking (like I was), but I guess not.  2nd of all this fighterjet is replacing the several decade-old F-15.  It\'s supposed to last us a loooong time.

Did you have the same complaints against the EuroFighter Typhoon when it was built?

ur right but..Sadly, we HAVE to stay ahead of everyone else in military technology. It sounds stupid and sounds like "oo we have to be the most kick ass nation"...but unfortunately its a necessity IMO.

and my teacher said we were actually behind in other technology. I mean..isnt japan making a female robot they can bone? least we arent doing stupid stuff like that.

off topic..but would if those robots turn into soliders.......TERMINATOR IS COMING TRUE..

Its the system\'s fault for that. The nature of capitalism

Also that "necessity" thing IMO is bs.There are many that gain a lot of financial power behind military and they will do anything to feed that feel of insecurity, nationalism and crisises. They are trying to make it a necessity in other words. And ubfortunately they are usually hiding behind politicians.

Its ironic that leaders praise peace in front of people, they make promises of a better world, of enviromental protection etc yet they are doing the exact opposite creating a sense of insecurity between countries and lack of trust.

In front of discussion tables politicians from various countries will all seem to get along with each other and show values and the good example to the public. But behind closed doors they are saying other things.

The most powerful countries are the ones that feel the biggest thread from other powerful countries. And actually its not because things couldnt have been different. Its because there are the few that are hiding behind the government of each of these countries that want to protect their personal interests/profits.Its always the few that create this insecurity. And we fall for it

Ask every simple citizen in the world.Do they want war? They will all say NO.
But since nobody wants war?How does war exist?Who provokes war if nobody wants war?If nobody wants war why the existence of the military?

Its always the few.Politicians.We think that we all leave in a perfect democratic regime.BS.We dont choose the candidates. The candidates are the ones that have the financial power to become candidates. They are the ones that choose to become candidates because they care about the interests of the few and of their own.

We dont vote for the best politicians. We vote for the least worse. Not to mention that the majority of the political institutions are chosen by the few

Well, yeah it is true that it\'s not such a weird thing that the F15 gets a successor. F22\'s development, was, however costy in both time & money.

I\'m just saying that a government maybe would have done a better choice to fund environment friendly industry development, moreso than fighterjet development.

The Eurofighter was a German, Spanish, English co development. The Netherlands wasn\'t involved so my tax did not go into that. Heck, the Dutch government has, up until now, always bought USA fighterjets.

Let\'s hope the F22 can do something big for the USA economy in return.

exactly this reason unicron..I do believe some politicians want us to be more afraid than we should be, i believe the people who want to kill to conquer are the minority. BUT that minority can do some major damage. If 10,000 people are sitting around naive and thinking were in utopia, a group of people with weapons will destroy the 10,000. Why not? they have the power to do it..theyve done it in the past. Plus with nuclear weapons now starting to be produced everywhere..its much more tempting to launch one against a country that he militarily behind. (i know thats kinda extreme).

another thing is history..a lot of people hate us, imagine if they had a chance to beat us instead of just putting some dents in us.

sorry if thats all over the place..almost 2 in the morning..

Problem is people DO think we are living in utopia.Thats why we are in the mercy of the minority. We ARE naive. If we werent the whole system would have been different.

Also people DONT hate YOU.They hate the American system and its foreign policy. With other words they hate the actions of the minority that rule.

For example take the 9/11 incident.

How many Americans before that knew of the existence of Al Quida or cared before that? How many knew about Bin Landen? How many knew that a certain someone had connections and good relations with him in the past? How many knew that the government used to support him?How many knew that Al Quida went against the USA after the govrenment\'s bad foreign policy actions?

Then innocent Americans died because of the minority\'s fault without knowing why and that minority used that incident for their own interests again, blaming Bin Landen and turning the citizens\' head away from the real instigators. Then they made irrational connections to Iraq and boom now more Americans are dying or losing parts of their bodies.

For what?Weapons of mass destruction that never existed?

Because the minority are actually good people and love Iraqis so much that they spend billions and send  Americans to die there??

Because Saddam and Bin Landen were friends?Friends enough that they hated each other??

Anyone else notice that the F/A 22 looks almost exactly like the F-15? The F-15 was  (well besides the F22 now) the most advanced and deadly fighter so it doesn\'t suprise me that the successor looks a lot like the F-15.

They are developing a replacement for the F-16 now too. The F16 is a sick fighter but its successor that is still in testing is even sicker. I think its called the Joint Strike Fighter. Its a joint project between the Navy, Marines and Air Force and its completely adaptable. I don\'t know if it will actually be developed. I haven\'t heard much about it in a long time. Maybe the F-22 took most of its thunder.

Technology is amazing. I would give anything to fly a F-22.

That would be even more exciting than a roller coaster.

There are places that you can fly a MiG. Those are in Russia though. Costs a bundle but I\'m sure its the experience of a lifetime. There\'s a place here in the US that lets you fly prop planes that handle like jets and you can dogfight a friend (lasers and hollywood smoke). I wanna save up enough and do one or the other.

I was gonna go in the Air Force and train to be a fighter pilot after college. I meet all the requirements (height, eye sight) but I didn\'t meet one requirement that keeps me from flying. I have a record of asthma so I can\'t fly fighters. So now its gonna be hard for me to enter even the Army (gotta go through medical screenings and waivering processes) but I\'m still gonna try.

Wow man that rocks. :)

But I guess you have to pass a few tests and gain a pilot license first, right?

A cousin of mine in Rhodes island got a pilot license and a friend of mine did some training in Cyprus both on small planes. My friend is in Australia now.Last time I ve heard of him 3 years ago he was studying to become a pilot for passenger planes there.

Like a fighter in the Army? The only plane the Army has is the Warthog which will rip a tank apart like its nothing. It isn\'t anything close to stealthy. It is an extremely loud plane so the enemy knows you\'re coming. The big plus is the bullets actually fire supersonic so the enemy gets hit before they hear the bullets fired.

It\'s top speed is about 450mph. The plane was completely designed around the General Electric GAU-8/A 30mm seven barrel cannon. It\'s basically a manned flying machine gun. Awesome!

Maybe we can photoshop Knotter a nice eco friendly version of US industry - you know coal and iron factories that emit nothing but butterflies and rainbows from their smokestacks.

MARIETTA, Ga., Dec. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Lockheed Martin\'s (NYSE: LMT - News) F-22A Raptor, the world\'s only 5th generation fighter aircraft, surpassed a monumental milestone today when the United States Air Force declared that the Raptor has reached initial operational capability.

General Ronald E. Keys, Commander of Air Combat Command, made the historic announcement at Langley Air Force Base, Va., from a Raptor hangar near his headquarters. "The F-22A fulfills a long quest to bring 5th generation capabilities of stealth, supercruise, and precision to the warfighter today and for decades to come," said General Keys in an Air Force news release. "If we go to war tomorrow, the Raptor will go with us."

The Air Force is now capable of deploying and supporting 12 F-22A Raptor aircraft anywhere in the world to execute air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. The Raptor is also qualified to perform homeland defense missions when required.

"It\'s another great day for our nation, the Air Force and certainly for the Raptor industry team," said Larry Lawson, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics executive vice president and F-22 general manager. "Thousands of workers in 42 states throughout our nation can take great pride in the fact that we not only met the customer\'s requirements, but we exceeded these expectations and produced a revolutionary fighter aircraft for our country. The Raptor is the very first supersonic, stealth fighter that incorporates capabilities never before possible in one weapons system and in the words of the Air Force, achieves \'overwhelming\' performance."

The whole article (yes, there\'s more) (http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/051215/dath016.html)

I pity the enemy pilots that may have to face that squadron.  I would imagine that between the stealth, 5th gen jammers, missles, electronics, and manouverability,  vs anything else, it would be a short, short battle.

Lol. Yeah, that would be the day. In fact, I\'d give my life for a true Utopian world for ppl to live in.

But indeed, the F22 is an amazing fighter jet and it looks cool too.
