My mom is the sole reason I play videogames. I grew up playing the original Nintendo with my mom. We always played Super Mario and of course DUCK HUNT!!
the first game I ever paid for with my own money was resident evil 2 which her and I played together without a memory card cause I didn\'t own one yet. Everyday when I got home from school we\'d sit down and play through it to the very end and of course as fate would have it we\'d get killed at the end boss. God I hated William Birkin...
but that experience is why I love RE2 so much. another one me and her played together a lot was Tomb Raider II which is my moms favourite game.
I\'ve owned an Xbox, Ps2, and Gamecube however the gamecube I let my mom borrow one weekend 2 years ago and haven\'t seen it since hehe
To put in perspective how much of a gamer my mom is, when I loaned her the GC and the Legend of Zelda:Windwakers. i also gave her the guide too it. Anyways, she spilled coffee all over the book and the guide was ruined....soo my mom played through the game all over again numerous times and wrote her own guide to it for me to use. Containing all the sub-quests hidden items and anything else that was needed to know.
so anyone else have some game crazy parents?

No...my dad hasn\'t played video games since Pong, Galaga, and Pacman. And my mom never cared for video games.

my dad tried a baseball game once on ps2 er 1..cant remember..he didnt have the coordination so he stopped trying.
my mom just says "man theyre getting so good with the graphics"

My dad used to play Mike Tyson\'s Punch Out with me, but that was it.

My mom never play video games. Its just that she doesn\'t know how. She never touch the remote control. Her interest are something else like listening to music, and dancing. She\'s very good at sewing and cooking.
Its a good thing that she isn\'t addicted to videogames at all.

That\'s the same way my parents are. It\'s annoying because I have to repeatedly show them how to do everything and they forget 10 seconds later EVERY SINGLE TIME! It sucks.

heh heh I guess I lucked out with my Ma then. It was cool cause there was always someone to play games with. She also went out and took a computer basics course so I wouldn\'t have to explain every little thing to her.

i got my mom to keep a pad of paper so she wrote down how to do stuff like saving files..

My parents don\'t. I think the last game my dad played was Duck Hunt all those years ago. They don\'t have an interest in games at all and I don\'t think they\'d be able to figure them out.

Otherwise that\'s just too much love and dedication!
As for my parents, I wish they liked what I liked. Not just games, but my reading and television favorites as well.

LOL actually she is currently in remission from kemo and recouping after having breast cancer so she\'s gotta do something to keep her time occupied :D

Yeah, I wrote down all these basic compy functions so my parents don\'t have to hassle me for the simplest things.

My mom doesn\'t play videogames at all. I think she\'s tried like once. My dad is a little more willing - at least he played a lot of pinball and strip poker back when we had an Amiga 500. Good times. :)

my mum plays tetris, thats about it. Dad hates games and doesn\'t give a shit at all about them.

lol my dad and uncle used to play Contra on the old NES. "team work" they\'d say. But who needs tactics when you have up up down down left right b a b a select start. They also used to play Mario 1, and they\'d always flip or otherwise move the controller upwards whenever they pressed a to jump. (Or was it b.. no, a, b shoots fireballs).
Too bad that uncle died in June this year of Leukeamia(spelling) :( He would\'ve loved the Revolution.

My father used to play videogames with me.When I was 5-6 we playied a lot an Atari tennis game.He also playied alone on it many games.
Then we got those pirated Nintendo consoles with 100 games in it.He playied that too.Contra and Soccer were few games that we playied together.
He also liked a few games on PS1.The Tomb Raider series was his favourite.
My mon on the other hand though......hated and still hates videogames.We quarelled many times about videogames :p

Cool thread. My dad tried a racing game with a steering wheel and used to play Atari Asteroids and Duck Hunt.
But my mom will watch me play anything when she\'s bored. She got addicted to Animal Crossing and likes handheld games. She played Lumines for a while, tried Nintendogs for a bit and actually beat Kirby\'s Canvas Curse. She\'s played the first two GBA Castlevanias and beat at least one of them. It\'s pretty impressive when I think about it, she does online Flash games a lot too.

Me and my dad used to play "Baseball" on the NES. They were always close games, so it was fun. My dad would also have some of his buddies over and they\'d take turns getting whooped by me (I think I was 12 or so at the time). My stepmom and me used to get really into "Golf" on the NES, we\'d play game after game.
Later on my stepdad and me would get into some heated Mario Kart matches in battle mode.. we\'d play till almost midnight all the time.
Man those were good times. :)

Going to arcades with him he would also set the record on the Galaga machine. I could never ever compete with him on it. Other than that we only played sports games together, especially Virtua tennis on the dreamcast. He loved it, I could be sleeping and he would wake me up to play.

My father will play PC backgammon and he used to occasionally play Tetris Attack with me.
That was 8 years ago, though.

Only game I could ever get my father to play was Pebble Beach Golf Tournament on the genesis...blah.

My grandma got me started on atari (the big one with the metal switches) back in the early 80s. I still have the system and all the games - 60 or so of them? Her favorite game for atari was the card game Bridge. (Boring)
