New monitor...
Apple 23" HD Cinema Display
-
That was just the box, here\'s the monitor in all its glory...
Next up, new compy! :)
-
Now all you need is a camera that actually has more than one pixel to take pictures with.
-
working on it
-
uhm.
I\'d envy you if I could see it.
So - what happened to you gettin\' a crap-ass monitor?
Congrats on the purchase tho\'
-

Nice brown shoes, by the way. :gay:

"Response time (typical) 16 ms"
stinky
-
It\'s helluva sexy though. Congrats.
-

-
Sweetness.

the best is yet to come, I still got the computer-building project coming up, for that I\'ll use a real camera as opposed to a the phone on my camera
-
I hear the PC you\'re building is so advanced it can take a picture of itself and auto-post it on PSX2C

the phone on your camera?
It\'s usually the other way round isn\'t it?

On the other hand, lower response time = worse colors
I work on one of these every day for professional photography and it\'s very nice could have better contrast ratio though.

Generally speaking, yes.
-
That\'s pretty cool, especially considering my tv was all of 19 inches for so long and yours is just a computer monitor.

I read a couple of reviews on it, one had it at 12 while the other at 16. It\'s not like Apple computers are the FPS mecca of gaming. It\'s perfect for film editing. Although....I would have gotten the Dell version and saved $700 (Apple and Dell use the same Phillips monitor).
I have the 20.1 inch Dell (Apple) LCDs. Two of them. :)
I might just be more hardware geeky than mm. ;)
-

LG/Phillips, in other words LG is more involved than Philips, hence the reason they come first in the name.:D

*pulls pocket protector out of NVIDIA\'s shirt pocket and throws it on floor*
You play video games like a dumb jock. You\'ll never be a level 20 druid. :p
-
not possible
i have a dell 2405
:)
-
i got a dell 2406
step out son
-
you mean "off" ?
-
I hate DELL.
-
they shoot your dog?
-
No, I just hate DELL. Their products piss me off. I\'m using a DELL now and I\'m upgrading to something else (a custom built PC). Their products just feel cheap. And I can\'t even upgrade the current POS I\'m using. I\'m just borrowing this one, however, and I\'m giving it back once I get the new PC. I\'m studying about how to build PCs myself, because it saves an assload of money and it seems quite interesting. Plus all you guys talk it up all the time, I figured I\'d finally come out of the cave and enter the world of PC modding.
-
Evis: I\'m surprised it\'s taken you so long, but welcome aboard to the world of PC gaming.
You\'ve discovered the incontrovertible truth that hardcore gaming on PC\'s = enthusiast market = building your own PC\'s. :)
-
:)
I dunno what took me so long. Yesterday I went searching for various PC parts that were equivalent to that of one of AMD\'s high end Alienware PCs from their site...by the time I was done, the PC from AMD\'s site was about 1400 bucks more. What a freaking waste. They even have a section of AMD\'s site stating that buying from them has more advantages than building your own. Yeah...hmmm...the things I could buy with the 1400 bucks saved...
-
the trick is to convince people to pay you to build them PCs, it\'s a nice little play money on the side
-
I already have friends/family that want me to build them PCs. So once I learn how to do this stuff efficiently, I will do just that. :)
-
Yeah, it can be profitable. Especially when you use the MSRP.
i.e. A few years ago Plextor\'s site was selling a CD-RW drive for $300 and it was around $200 everywhere else.
-
Now that I\'ve started watching Lost...your avy is no longer creepy...it\'s cool.
-
How can anybody call Terry O\'Quinn creepy after Millennium.. after.. after Lost?
.....
Nevermind.
-
How much do you usually charge to build a pc? (not including the price of parts) I can do it, I just never took the time to find out how much I can make doing it. It may be nice to break from working on them all day to putting them together once in a while
-
building them isnt the problem, supporting them is
you turn into Joe PCrepairman the second you deliver it
-
which is why I stopped doing it, now I just tell people to buy prebuilt

I\'m the one always fixing crap anyway. I should just charge people to repair it or something. But that sounds like a b^tch to deal with.

I never watched that show so I didn\'t know who it was in your avy...and because of that I thought it was strange.

Whenever I build a PC for a friend, I do it only as long as they PROMISE that they never call me for repairs or spyware or virus problems.
I did that for one of my wife\'s aunt and it was a freakin\' nightmare. I don\'t do desktop support outside of work.
-
good point... I had a customer of mine (website) call me yesterday asking me to guide him thru repartitioning his HDD. What the bloody hell is he calling me for that??
