Yep, since Armored Core 4 is out for both, here are links to their direct-feed trailers, each created on a different system. Compare and contrast people!
PS3 VERSION (http://media.ps3.ign.com/media/761/761163/vids_1.html)
XBOX 360 VERSION (http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/772/772076/vids_1.html)
IGN\'S ARTICLE (http://ps3.ign.com/articles/662/662656p1.html) (Note how they skirt the issue of declaring top dog? Check the still screenies, if you don\'t have access to the high-res movies)
-
Which do you think is better?
-
I choose to skirt the issue :p
Can\'t we all just get along!! :hat:
*EDIT*
Ahhh, nuts. The PS3 video BLOWS away the 360 one. The 360 vid is definitely \'cut\' better (ie edited better), with cool cuts, music, and a faster pace... but in terms of actual performance? When the building comes down in the PS3 one.. it just looks soooooo good. Better colour and graphics on the PS3 video, for sure.
I think the XBOX team was doing more with less though. The PS3 video looks like FMV cutscene almost throughout. The fast movement of the Xbox video allows them to showcase the still very impressive graphics and action, without focusing too much on a pure-graphics demo. The robots are quite different in each, the PS3 one muuuuch better.
-
They are in a different stage of development, and cross platform games never show the real strength of each console...so I don\'t see any comparison...
-
Fact is, the graphics off the PS3 dev kits with a 7800 in them are better than the final 360 kits... once the RSX chip gets thrown in, there really WILL be NO comparison.
I\'m not saying the 360 movie isn\'t pretty, cause it is. Magnificent, like what a absolutely-top-of-the-line PC would be able to do. But the PS3 video is more like a high-def FMV, which is just absolutely spectacular. The physics and effects showcased, not to mention detail (especially of objects - the robot, enemies) is just much, much better on the PS3.
*EDIT*
Ugh - I knew I shoulda skirted the issue!
-
btw, 7800 > RSX for price reasons.
-
Price reasons? You jest, no? Sony has their deal well worked out with Nvidia, and since most estimates bring in the PS3 at 350-400 US, I\'m sure they took into account cost of the graphics chip.
RSX > 7800 (http://www.ps3blog.net/2005/09/01/rsx-vs-7800-cripes/)
-
PS3 is coming out like a year later than xbox 360
not a fair comparison
although PS3 > xbox 360 in every way, shape, and form
-
BS how can anyone compare?

The PS3 looks like an oversized alarm clock IMO. In shape and form at least, the 360 is a far sexier looking machine.

Dude, I went to the Australian nVida Tech Day. The guy said 7800 > RSX to offset the price of BluRay.
I think....

Don\'t bring sex into this. Revolutoin wins hands down. Or should I say ... damnit, I can\'t make a pun about the remote. Uh.. it vibrates and it\'s shaped like a dildo..
-
Nintendo already had the female market cornered somewhat, they didn\'t need to go that far.
Always too much of a good thing..
-
it\'s running on a 7800 PC
hahahaha
-
Bah! LET LOOSE THE DOGS OF WAR!
PLAYSTATION 3 RULES! XBOX 360 SUCKS!
There. Right to the point.
-
this all seems moot seeing how neither one is out, and one is still a year away (yeah, I\'m assuming a delay)

Here, have a tissue.

Yet another stupid IGN article. Both games are at different development stages. The editing is way too different to make any comparison.
Both video\'s look cool.
Personally, I liked the Xb0x360 trailer better.
-
two different videos and one is running on a computer

Now now, don\'t be that harsh. Xbox360 is practically a console.
:p
-
^ What\'s the difference again? They both have processors made by IBM and both have GPUs by PC companies.
fightfightfight!
-
And Apple will be pc-ified soon as well.
Anyway, you guys look too much at the hardware.
The emphasis on differentation will be increasingly about
demographics. Every company, incl. pc producers Dell, HP etc is fighting for \' center stage\' in the family living room.
-
What\'s the difference again?
The difference is that each one of us deep down inside favours one console over the other. Those that Favour the PS3 will be the ones making a big comation about multi-platform games that currently are in different stages, and we all know how MP games are by no means any real legit form of measure to determine each sytems graphical abilites.

Nvidia\'s gonna release a 7800GTX 512 mb with \' Ultra clockspeed bump"
550 / 1800 clocked 7800 GTX article (http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=59152)
on 110 Nm. So, there\'s lotsa stretch in G70\'s design... RSX is gonna be on 90 Nm, so it will probably be even better than this \' Ultra\' 7800 GTX.
-
oh btw

PS3 version looks better, but the content of the trailers is so dissimilar it\'s impossible to really compare.
-
This game looks a million times better in HD (PS3 version): http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?id=7689&type=mov

yummy. I\'ll wait to see both 1st person, but to me the PS3 is much stronger both overall and on the \'important\' stuff - ie, the robot.
Reverse situation from last launch, all the XBOX guys try and downplay the power difference, since the PS3 is coming out later, just like they tried to make it a bigger issue when the PS2 was already out. Playstation fans do the opposite :p
