Denver voted to legalize possession of small amounts of pot to adults over 21. Kinda cool I guess.

If you don\'t agree with it, then don\'t do it. Its that simple. Cigarettes are harmful. Don\'t like that? Don\'t do it.

Too bad it\'s not that simple.

This will be overturned by a Federal Court just as marijuana used for medical purposes was overturned in California.

Probably. But isn\'t marijuana illegal in states rather than a federal law? Otherwise, if its a federal law, then I can see the courts would just rule the new vote to be illegal.

4oz. has been legal in Alaska here for some time now.

Recent Ballet Measure No.2 failed everywhere in the state except my town. Kerry also got majority of votes.

Federal Law > State Law :( :smokin:

Evis, you can quit making shit up now.

come to holland where it already is legal and ten times stronger than the stuff you got over there... ;)

did I mention the fact that they are considering making growing it legal?...

Hey policehat, I\'m planning a trip to Amsterdam next month, so I need to be updated regarding the legality of pot. I realize you can buy it in coffee shops, but is it legal to smoke/carry it in public (i.e. outside of said coffee shops)?

Chances are your friend was already stupid as hell. Pot does not do that to anybody. Believe me, some of the smartest kids I\'ve met are the biggest potheads you\'ll ever see.

well, technically it isn\'t legal, but you\'re allowed to \'consume\' small portions of it, either in coffeeshops or at home...
people smoking it in public places happens, but I wouldn\'t recommend it, because although it is tolerated to smoke it, it is still not legal...

tourisms always are amazed when they enter a coffeeshop here and see they can buy it just like you would buy a pack of cigarettes (there are whole stacks of boxes placed behind the counter) ;)

I live on the border with germany, sometimes there are even lines at the coffeeshops, filled with germans waiting to get a piece :)

o, one more tip, don\'t smoke it pure, it\'ll knock you of your socks ;)

often coffeeshops have different kinds of pot, ranging from mild for beginners to strong for \'experts\'

no, swif

pot makes people stupid even after a moderate amount of usage.

it\'s also the gateway drug for heavy users, despite the rumors otherwise.

Man, after all these years, the myths about mary jane still run rampant.

You can not get addicted to marijuana. You can develop a habit but you can not be chemically addicted to it. THis is not like nicotine or caffiene.

Too much of anything is bad for you, even water (Hyponatremia -which killed someone last month). Smoking pot into retardation requires tons of determination coz it\'s not cheap, you pass out from too much of it (like alcohol, though alcohol will kill you faster), you get hungry, you get thirsty...etc.

Ever seen drunks fight? Yeah, frequently. Ever seen sky-high pot heads fight? They sort of weeble-wobble and fall down. Thing is, they were never standing up - just sitting there pushing each other. :lmao:

The cotton industry is scared to death of Hemp. Hemp is the more versatile than cotton and it would destroy their pockets if hemp became more widely used, like back in WW2. Cotton industry has a large lobbying group that are anti-hemp/marijuana.

Since we\'ve gone over this subject before, I\'ll say the usual "One day, it will be legal."

a user can most certainly get addicted to pot.  i had a friend who would wake up in the middle of the night cause he needed a bong hit.  i\'ve known people that cannot function unless they "wake and bake".

that\'s not a habit, that\'s an addiction.

to avoid arguing semantics, the "high" that weed produces is what\'s addictive.

you might as well say crack cocaine isn\'t addictive then, but the high before someone sucks the next cock for money is

yeah, the endorphines are what you get addicted to. Just like being addicted to porn or sex.

I smoke, but not everyday. I like to roll a doobie if I\'m headed to the studio to make some music. The random noodling around makes for some great sounding shit. (sometimes what you thought was great turns out to be complete nonsense the next day.) I don\'t really do bongs anymore, that\'s sort of overkill. I just like to take the edge off once & awhile. :)

My defense for smoking alot of weed is that I live in Juneau, Alaska, and their is nothing to do here.

And we have  dank buds..... :D

Your right, but that doesnt make pot itself bad.

Its done great things for my life and perspective, but its also done its share of bad, (leading me to use much harder drugs).

Its only some time before its legal.

I don\'t do it and have no desire to start, but I could care less if it was ever made legal. Infact, I think it should come down to personal choice. If we can smoke ciggs and drink, then let people smoke pot. Either way, you\'re getting a "high" / altered state and still killing yourself. So, go ahead and be my guest.

I agree with the first... but alcohol only kills you if you abuse it.  Some alcoholic beverages, such as Red Wine are actually healthy for your heart, if you drink in moderation.

The grapes in the wine lower blood pressure, while the alcohol in the wine raises blood pressure. The grapes provide an anti-oxidant effect...while the alcohol causes oxidation. It\'s better to drink grape juice than wine, since the alcohol sort of negates the positive effects of the grapes. Grape juice is very good for the body.

So is man juice.

"Open up"

LIC by long term, I assume you mean LONG TERM/HEAVY USE, Not just moderate usage for years and years.

Correct?

Also; What you lose in physical health, can be regained in mental health. :)

Well I haven\'t decided if I\'m gonna go yet. Even though the flight is pretty cheap from Copenhagen, I\'m still gonna get a hotelroom etc. and then it goes from cheap to not-so-cheap. And since I\'m flying to New Zealand in January, I could use the money. :)

But I guess I\'m still on the fence.

That is one of those bone headed comments. If you need drugs to "open your perspective", then you wasn\'t very smart to begin with. A smart person, should be able to function, think and come up with interesting idea\'s on life without drugs. That excuse is akin to the excuse that drinking helps "relax". It\'s all crutches for people who have a habit.

Some of the most influential/creative people on this planet have been drug users.

Denying the possible positives of drug use is outright ignorant.

The whole notion that one smart person done something creative because of drugs is insane. People can be just as creative without drugs and the idea that drugs make you more creative is only underselling yourself.

So your saying drugs have done nothing beneficial?

That is "insane".

Im not saying drugs are the cure-all for creativity, but they are definitely a catalyst for creativity.
