The Food4Thought campaign, targeted at the 11- and 12-year-old age group, comes after a BHF survey found that 36 percent of eight- to 14-year-olds did not know that potatoes were the main ingredient in French fries.

So should we make a poll of whether or not people think this percentage would be greater in the same age group in the US? :)

They need to have those ad campaigns here.  Too many youngins like to go to a fast food place for a quick meal.

My health insurance rates rise because Joe1Pack clogs another artery.

The US would know the answer cause you guys are the fattest country in the world. It only makes sense that you know the most about food, because you consume too much of it. Fat fucks. ;)

Fast Food suck.Greece and especially Crete was known for its healthy mediterranean food.It had some of the lowest heart attack episodes in Europe and some of the healthiest residents.
Now Fast Food restauraunts opened almost everywhere there and recently statistics showed that Greece probably has the biggest numbers of fat people even at an early age in whole Europe.
Those Fast Food restauraunt businesses are taking advandage of low cost, the fact that some people dont have much time in their hands so they need something to eat fast and the fact that they can adverdise their food while smaller  but healthier food restaurants cant.
 Skrew Fast Food.

THIS IS THE REAL FOOD!

Wow...this isn\'t that bad actually. That Jay Leno street question segment of the show proves just how stupid random people can be. Common sense isn\'t so common, it seems.

I eat anything except dogs and cats.

I\'ll even try rat as long as it\'s raised for eating.

I\'ve eaten a squirrel. And deer, and boar, and wild geese, and wild turkey and wild duck, and I even ate a chipmunk once. Not as much meat on those as you would expect.

A chipmunk? That thing barely weighs an ounce! The amount of calories to digest it is more than what little meat it has.

but it was yummy. I roasted it on a stick over a campfire after marinating it in jack daniels & sugar.

You ate the frikken branch, not the chipmunk. :p Hell, one slice of burnt bacon has more meat that a chipmunk. They\'re so tiny and so damn quick, they literally become invisible right in front of you!

How did you catch the chipmunk. They\'re pretty elusive unless you throw a huge rock at it.

A waste of bullet. You can literally catch them with a paper fly trap. They\'re just mice on speed with a sports coat.

A good old fashioned box trap works too. Just a box or crate with a stick holding it up attached to a string.

Yes, chipmunks love walking in random boxes.

Maybe if you had some tasty nuts inside. :)

Well obviously. Chipmunks get attracted to anything really. We got bored at camp one time so we did that and we used pudding. They liked it. Once we caught them, we let them go immediately. No harm done.

Ouch. Sucks for the stork. A friend of mine\'s ex boyfriend hit a turkey or a goose (forget which) and she said it errupted in a poof of feathers. Wonder if that happened to the stork. But a stork isn\'t a small bird, isn\'t it? Must have done some damage.

It was a PT cruiser, and all that was left was a puff of feathers and copious amounts of blood.

They didnt even stop.

I remember watching the WRC one time and an Evo hit what I think was a sparrow. The entire front of the car was torn apart and it went into the window. The window was destroyed, the entire front end was cut up in the path. It was incredible what one bird can do to a car.

Looks like I am going to have to Terantino this thread.  How in the hell we got to WRC and Sparrows from a thread about potatoes is going to be interesting.

And by interesting I mean, not interesting.

I haven\'t eaten at/from a (American) fastfood chain for almost half a decade.

My fav dish is Italian. Some non fatty pasta\'s like penne with pure tomato sauce and vegetables.

Well, like those cheap for1-ready-made lasagna\'sm (of course, I didn\'t mean the actual pasta itself, but pasta meals in general and what they add to it concerning other ingredients to the recepy).   When you make it yourself, you can always choose the amount of cheese you wanna add and what kinda meat or no meat at all.

Anyway, the grocery chain i goto also sells these penne meals which are just plain penne + tomato sauce + some chicken breast meat + vegetables. Healthy stuff for 100% sure.

Uhhh...

No they\'re not...

Healthier than fast food...maybe...

Anything you don\'t make yourself, you don\'t know what has been added...

High sodium, high fat, artificial ingredients, MSG...

Whatever it takes to make a buck and keep them coming back for more...

No, the ones i get are 100% very healthy.

Legislation regarding foods are different in the European Union than in the USA.

When I was at Streamline Studios, the USA guys all told me they were surprised about the correct ingredients listing on foods here in the Netherlands.

Any bio engineered foods are listed by law. They were surprised you can actually choose, in the supermarket, to get a food product of which you actually know the ingredients are 100% honest and then it\'s up to your own choice to eat that altered crap or to get healthy food.

Then learn Dutch for f-ing sake and see how it will enrich you.

Anyway, the point is, in the European Union you can be sure, by law, that the food you buy has the correct listing of ingredients plus wether it\'s bio engineered stuff or not.

^ Yes, that page states that any bio engineered food should be labeled as such, so the consumer has the choice to buy it or to buy the non altered food.
