Post by: Titan on November 09, 2005, 06:32:50 PM: An OSTRICH eluded Cyprus police and caused some damage. How does it evade police? Its not exactly the most elusive creature on earth. Its friggin huge and can\'t fly.

Cars can go over 30 but the police normally can contain them. :rolleyes:

Its a big bird. I\'m sure if they hit it, it would survive (well depends how fast they hit it). I saw on Dirty Jobs that ostriches only can sprint at 30 mph for a very short time.

Well yeah. Just like cheetahs can\'t run 60+ mph for extended periods...it\'s only for catching prey. That damn bird caused some damage.

I tried once years ago.I barely remember how it tasted.I think it was chewy.

But man a small piece of ostrich meat costed around 10 CY pounds.That\'s around US$20.Damn expensive.Ostrich meat consumtion isnt widespread at all here despite that there is an ostrich farm.Its mostly food for the rich.
