just goes to show, whenever I buy a product, they release the new version the next week.

I can\'t win...

Too bad the BFG versions go for $750 a pop.  Eh, I\'ll wait for the 8 or 9 series... :/

Like anything new, it always costs shit loads.  no i won\'t be buying a 512meg 7800gtx..  i\'ll get the 256meg.
I could wait till the dx10 gen cards, but then i might as well wait fo the next gen,  then the next gen after that.. when will it end. :) and one of a single card always beats out one of the same type.
If i newer gen card didn\'t beat out sli of a older gen. Then you shouldn\'t be buying it to begin with.

Well, the problem of SLi is that it\'s superiority over any single card doesn\'t always hold up in all cases.

Some software just runs better on 1 super single card...

Oh cry me a river. Welcome to the PC World.

I paid top dollar for my 6800 a year ago and guess what? It\'s outdated now. You don\'t see me cryin\'.

This time, next year the 7800\'s will drop price and I\'ll buy one.

I made up my mind to always skip a generation, I don\'t need to game @ 1600x1200... as long as I can pull 1024x768 with decent framerates i\'m pretty happy.

Although F.E.A.R. really abuses my poor 6800gt :(  Although not to the point where it\'s not enjoyable

I like crying sometimes... it gets the stress out.  I\'m an every other gen guy too.  So I\'ll probably be looking at a 9 series in about a year from now.

if I were in your shoes I\'d do my own brakes for $80 and buy a 7800GT and a case of beer, but that\'s just me :D

That\'s the plan, my dear friend. I won\'t do it myself, but I know someone who will for about that price. Will spend the rest on a nice videocard - without tellin\' \'the female\'..
:D

She works the same place I do, so she also gets a $500 bonus. We\'ll put her\'s in the bank.
