Thanks for the compliments all, I\'ve been looking for a job like this for literally over a year.  Been to over a dozen interviews, spent $75+ in parking garage fees in DC, prostitutes etc...

As for the actual position, I don\'t know what the title is other than "temp" :)  I\'m only working for them for a month, with a possibility for future work if they think I have a nice ass.

Right now they have like 2-3 web/print designers and I\'m the faggot who cuts up the PSDs in Photoshop and throws it into CSS/HTML/PHP/ASP (absolutely zero table design).  I have to say the designers are all women in their early to mid 20\'s and they are all sexy.  One is a really really nice Korean girl who I\'m sure you all would love to see.

And this confirms it.  I cannot view this webpage from work with the stuff I just spouted. :D

Good luck in your interview Knotter.  Consider putting your resume on Monster, I got calls from several recruiters that way.

Come on THX, you can admit it... we all know the hot 20-something women are in fact overweight 45-year old balding guys! :D

Are you on temp or probation?  Are you either on or off after 30?  Hate to think they want to keep you as a temp forever.

Keep track of the money you spend.  You can right off all those tolls, the mileage to your interviews, to the office supply store to buy paper, etc. etc.  End of the month you may just not make a damn thing if you play it right.

As a \'temp\' ? Doing basically the \'filler\' work ?

I\'d make sure you get yourself noticed and show em what you really got. I think this is also a bit of a test to see if any new candidate is willing to do extra stuff.

Learn from the core design team and show your stuff. If then, they don\'t give you a contract after that month, you\'ll know they\'re just looking for cheap filler workers - if so, leave em.

Btw. I got a call today from another game company ; they want to meet me. I guess posting my portfolio around, and having some nice friends pays off....

knotter I actually prefer doing the actual coding of a web page than working in Photoshop.  I\'m more of a technical person and sometimes the challenge to make everything look exactly like designers\' composition gets pretty fun.  In fact I worked about a half hour overtime on Tuesday to complete a project.

Not really filler work as I am replacing someone who is working on site for a client.  I also handle multimedia components of a web page, putting in Flash video, updating navigational, sfw\'s and whatnot.  If you search for web design jobs you\'ll see this position pop up more & more.  The designers make a comp, then pass it off to the \'HTML specialist\'  to be put into web form.  They also plug in the DHTML tags that the developer creates.  Streamlines the processs.

Vid- that\'s some neat info.  I need to talk to my Uncle, had no idea you can write all that off.

I got 2 new job interviews coming up. Both companies called me more or less spontaniously upon receival of my portfolio.

I guess spending quality time on portfolio and some industry experience makes quite some difference.

The first one\'s a CGi company looking for a \'Motion designer\' with experience in Cinema4D :D . Got that on tuesday 29th (day after that other job interview)

The second one\'s a starting games studio  . Yeah, i know.. i just quit a Streamline for reasons mentioned. I think it\'ll be good to meet them anyway and show what i can do.

Omg ! Busy times at the end of the year ! :bounce:

I didn\'t know there was much room for promotion as a male prostitute.
