Title says it all. All this clamoring for 360 has me thinking I should preorder a PS3 to avoid any headaches. Sony doesn\'t seem to be rushing the PS3 so maybe most of the bugs will be worked out by launch but no one can know for certain.
I definitely do not want to wait overnight for a videogame console anymore. Are there any great games that are expected to launch with the ps3?
-
yes
-
no
-
In the PAL region it\'s not really necessary to pre order a launching console.
I did however have to pre order my PStwo becuz of shortages ; Sony supply boat got stuck
-
there will always be bugs. They can test all they want, but when a sh*t load of people are playing it, EVERYTHING will be exposed. I guarantee microsoft tested and tested, they probably pay a group just to test it, and they didnt find the problems. Happens all the time with bugs in PC games..and madden (not sure what other ps2 games).
mm didnt have a problem with his ps2, and hes an all knowing god, but after having to call sony and go through all the bs of updating my ps2 cuz it stopped reading games, then later dieing, im waiting till the second bunch comes out.

try saying that if you live here.
I was Very lucky to get my PSP..even with a preorder.
-
I might pre-order a couple just to sell them.. maybe keeping one for myself.
I\'m definitely pre-ordering Revolution though. I\'m aaaall over that shit.
-
I\'ve never bought a console at launch and I doubt I will for this one either. Normally I have the patience to wait for good games and the kinks to be worked out.
-
No.
Both companies have made shoddy products at launch. MS more so - but I still don\'t trust Sony enough to buy one on launch day. Now after the PSones and PS2s...

Bullshit.
OS errors..
Heating problems.
Power supply problems.
Faulty HD\'s.
Wireless connection problems.
You can\'t tell me that ALL these problems just "slipped" by. And if they did indeed just slip by, it speaks volumes about the quality control goin\' on.
-
"Made in Mexico" ?
-
yeah, i guess
[sarcasm]oh and definitely a Revolution, they will be in very high demand.[/sarcasm]
-
revolution is only console im looking forward to
well, not the fucked up controller

It\'s possible they did detect some problems but were willing to take the risk and push the product for the Thanksgiving rush. They figure that if 10% were bad, which is huge...they still can cover that 10% with free replacements and still establish a user base before Sony\'s PS3 D-Day attack.
OH....yeah....I will get the PS3 on launch day. Me and the wife. PS3 #2 will be eBay\'ed.

Still have my original PS2 bought on preorder.

I want to shake your hand because you\'re probably the only one.

Well I haven\'t played it in 4 years...
One thing Sony does do is use the asian market as lab rats for the US. So we have that going for us.. Which is nice.
-
i have my original PS2 also, never had a problem.
-
I still have my original PS2, collecting dust....aka broken and sitting in my closet.

lol this probably explains why we\'re so bitter. My PS2 breaks and yours works fine, yet you experience xboxs breaking and I\'ve never seen anything but flawless ones.
-
Both of mine had problems but got lots of play :]
-
I have my original PS2 from the initial batch as well. Accept I have made a few laser adjustments. But it still plays.
Yes I will pre-order one
-
My PS2 from the first batch still works fine. Just played ICO again the other day.
That said, of friends/family who bought PS2 and Xbox, I count:
1 out of 4 xbox\'s went bad - he got rid of it.
and 1 out of 11 PS2s wents bad, but I opened it up and cleaned and tightened it all up for him, and it worked again.
Most people I know have PS2s, obviously. Both the \'bad\' ones went bad after about 1.5 years. The PS2 stopped reading any disks, and the Xbox \'burned\' out. It would turn on but the graphics were all funky and wierd. Cleaning it out revealed no obvious problems/burns.
-
I will preorder a couple just to resell. I don\'t think I trust Sony enough to grab a system for myself at launch. I\'ll wait a month or two before grabbing one this time.

Hi LC, do you know the percentage of defective units ? ...I was planning to get an X360 at launch....maybe I\'ll wait a bit more...
-
better wait
-
I think I\'m gonna preorder a couple PS3s and keep one then sell the rest on ebay and make some cash :D
-
for some reason I will pre-order a ps3. I dunno I just think ps3 will have a much better launch than360. Maybe I am just not all that excited about gaming now. I played the kameo demo and it was kick ass.
The sports games seemed real rushed. Nba2k6 seemed bootleg to me. The xbox version seemed more polished. I dunno madden 360 has no appeal to me. Worst than madden for ps2 IMHO.

I haven\'t done this yet, but this time I think I\'m going to pre-order a few of them. eBay is TeH w1N! Seriously...people pay absurd prices for these things.

That\'s waht I did with my 360. Pre-oredered 2, kept one and sold the other on ebay for $880. (minus shipping, ebay fees, and paypal fees.)
My Xbox 360, one extra wireless controller, and 2 games cost me $270 after the sale of the 2nd.
-
^^Not that bad. I can\'t afford to buy 2 ps3\'s especially if the price is $500.

Neither can I. If I do this endeavor, I\'m gonna be in debt until I sell it. I\'m really praying there is a parts shortage or people are dumb and pay insane amounts of money for it.

you guys don\'t have credit cards?
