Can\'t wait.
-
Should be a good movie. I want to go see it in theaters.
-
Just saw a preview on tv. Looks much better than I thought it would, though I am still a bit skeptical on this movie.
I\'m sure it\'ll clean up this xmas season at the box office but that doesn\'t mean it\'ll be a classic rather than just another popcorn flick.
-
3 hour long movie of a giant ape who beats up dinosaurs and can stick up for his woman?
I\'m in.
-
I saw the preview, and I am definetley skeptical about the \'dinosaurs\'....
How are they going to explain that?
-
^^^^
Some of the old King Kong flicks had dinosaurs. And explaining dinosaurs would probably be the same as explaining a giant ape.
-
they actually explain it quite good.
Apparently the cavemen or whatever on the island extracted dinosaur DNA from mosquitos that were frozen in sap from the prehistoric era.
and I hear the scene where jeff goldblum arm wrestles kong is tight!!
-
ooo, and they completed the missing parts using frog dna. ^_^
-
It\'ll be shit.. best bits are probably in the preview... Jack Black is in it.. That tells u alot.

Uh - the same way they always have in the Kong universe...
Jack Black = No sell.
-
\'33 King Kong > Godzilla.*
As a kid, I cried when King Kong died. Hey...I think I mentioned that in the thread about "most touching death scene"
-
What I wanna know is why make another Kong movie? WHY!?!
I don\'t give an ape\'s ass about it.

Because this is a remake of the original. There is a freaking long fight between Kong and this T-Rex.
-
how clueless can people be?
it\'s like the world didn\'t exist before MTV

Peter Jackson wrote LOTR and King Kong! That guy\'s amazing. :D

Don\'t feel bad. It\'s like how some people think LOTR only exist in movie form.
-
well duh, everyone knows it was based on a cartoon from the late 70\'s
-
I thought (e) was kidding. He\'s asking how there are dinomonsters on the island....and completely ignoring the giant ape\'s existance.

I guess the books being around for over half a century had no bearing :p

Wow, way to miss the sarcasm...

That cartoon was terrible. The Hobbit cartoon was ok, but the LOTR series...eesh.
The books are the best.

I forgot to quote waspman too but I was actually responding to him more than sammy.

you know, if I was in the habit of quoting people in my signature that would definetly make the cut.

Don\'t know about you guys, but I find a giant ape more believable than an animal that went extinct several millions of years ago...
And who ever is excited about Jack Black should be shot. In the face. Again. And Again.

Extract the blood from the sap and
BINGO!!!
Dino DNA!!

It\'s an island that time forgot.

Giant apes did exist at one time (and it is theorized they still do exist in some areas but can\'t be found....so yeah, for now they\'re extinct) but they weren\'t anywhere near Kong size. They were like 12 feet or something at most. I dunno, google it.

So like it\'s easier for you to believe that something that has never existed to be alive rather than something that existed in the past?
Please don\'t cross the border.

Well think of it this way - dinosaurs have been dead for a long fucking time.
I can guarantee you they are all dead, never to return.
Gorillas however still live on this planet. I just think it seems more reasonable that an abnormal gorilla would somehow appear (Altering DNA, phenomenon, what have you).
Stranger things have happened. Of course same could be said for dinosaurs.
Either way, they are both uncomprehensible - and impossible.
I was always a Godzilla fan...
-
they couldve done something besides what jurassic park did.
Im really skeptical of the movie, but im not going to put jack black in a bad light yet. Seeing as i was suprised from jaime foxx in Collateral, ill let jack black TRY a serious roll.
Plus, godzilla was poorly remade. I never got into LOTR so im not going to say peter jackson is brilliant but hes probably better than whoever the hell made godzilla.
-
They\'re just joking around with the Jurassic Park stuff, Viper. I don\'t think the movie ever offers an explanation about the existence of the dinos. Suspension of disbelief.
-
Uh...
It\'s an island forgotten by man. An island that never "modernized". That is the the whole idea of the tribes, the dino\'s and a giant friggin\' ape.
Oh and I feel so much dumber after reading (E)\'s attempt of trying to make himself look better on the whole dino\'s > Kong debate.
Then again, it is painfully obvious he has never watched the original and does not have a shrine for Fay Wray.

*scratches head*
duh-fuck? Did you know that Star Wars is fiction as well? And that it didn\'t happen a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away?
-
All I\'m saying is a giant gorilla is more reasonable than dinosaurs living today...
Sand in your vaginas?
-
How is a GIANT gorilla more reasonable than dinosaurs? And you are missing the whole point! It is an island forgotten by time. That\'s the whole premise. An island forgotten by time, discovered by man and then man tries to take something from it and bring it into the modern world.
Jesus.
But then again, I mean, the giant gorilla is more reasonable than dinosaurs... I mean, with that "altering DNA" and all..
-
Yawn.... Closing thread in 3...2...
-
Noooooooooooooooooooooo!
I WANNA TALK ABOUT K0NG!!111!
-
King Kong has a huge dong.
-
For the sake of Evolution, dinosaurs could still be that large if their environment provided them the right climate and food. As in the case of the Coelacanth dating from about 400 to 66 million years ago. Thought to be extinct until in 1938, a living coelacanth was caught off South Africa.
Now....as far as giant gorillas go? No way. They\'re metabolism would be greater than giant walking lizard/birds like the T-rex and would eat themselves into famine.
-
i never really liked kong like that. i\'m more of a godzilla fan...i\'m not a fan of the latest remakes, but i still like the old joints from the 60\'s....i\'ve seen both versions of godzilla vs king kong, as the only difference being, in the american version, kong wins, and in the japanese version godzilla wins....
lotta remakes goin on with both series..isn\'t this like the 3rd or 4th remake?
