With the release of FireFox 1.5, I\'d like to take a survey of what web browser people use. I know there is a lot of disparity amongst the group. This is just something I\'ve been wondering.
Personally, I\'m a FireFox user.
-
Firefox since the beta in October 2004. IE is kept on hand for emergencies.
-
^Same here.
-
Firefox and IE. Haven\'t try others yet as both Firefox and IE seems to work fine so far.
-
Firefox but I have IE because sometimes some sites need you to use IE and its good as a backup if Firefox is glitchy (which for somereason it is on my comp).
-
Firefox since the Pheonix days, Opera from time to time and Safari on my mac
-
IE since this school has a shitty connection and it "times out" every time a website doesn\'t instantly appear.
-
I just made this exact thread not less than a week ago...
Firefox.
-
link plz

Yeah. This thread has been done quite recently.

i use firefox

Safari
-
Safari?
I have to use that at school. I can\'t stand it.
-
i use firefox
So do I.
-
Good.
Firefox is nice.
-
I\'m enjoying 1.5. It\'s a bitch waiting for all the extension upgrades, though.
-
Still, firefox is nice.
I like it.
It\'s what I use, firefox..
-
Yes...you\'ve said that...
....that you use Firefox...Firefox is what you use.
-
Well, it is.
-
Wait...you use Firefox, right? Firefox is what you use?
-

DUH!
ARE YOU BLIND? I THINK I MENTIONED ..
I USE FIREFOX
-
I was making fun of your earlier comment. You said you used Firefox twice in the same post:
Still, firefox is nice.
I like it.
It\'s what I use, firefox..
I just thought the redundancy was funny.

Any particular reason why?
-
Maybe because it\'s not skinnable yet. I don\'t mind using it myself, though.
-
Safari = 0wnz for OS X.
I\'d love a Windows port.
-
Me too. It\'s pretty fast and reliable. There are some sites that load better in Safari than either IE or Firefox. I wish Safari was more customizable though. Still a solid app.
-
I can\'t get the addins in my Firefox to work (to change the look). It says its like not compatible or some stupid shit like that.
-
There are still quite a few extension/themes that aren\'t compatible yet with the new Firefox. Just keep using the update button every so often.
-
use firefox. Used to use IE, but got sick of it, prefer the tab browsing.
-
IE7 is going to be "innovative" and use tabs.
-
http://ietab.mozdev.org/ It used to be that you could even run windows update through firefox with this, but MS did something to break it. Hopefully an update will fix it again.
firefoxy
just curious as to what extensions you gays use. I currently have installed.
ForecastFox
Tabbrowser Preferences
FasterFox
IEtab
-
\'m enjoying 1.5. It\'s a bitch waiting for all the extension upgrades, though.
That\'s why there is something called Opera.
-
Opera sucks balls. I can\'t stand that program. Most of my extensions/themes have received compatible updates anyway.
just curious as to what extensions you gays use.
Let\'s see...
FasterFox
PDF Download
Remove It Permanently
Calculator
Customize Google (Very Helpful Extension)
NoScript
StumbleUpon
DownloadThemAll!
ImgLikeOpera
Gcache
W3T Url Shrinker
DictionarySearch
Google Toolbar
I originally used the Tweak Network Settings extension to speed up the internet, but FasterFox has proved itself much faster.
-
I used to have a lot more extensions loaded but firefox was getting a little unstable, so I cut it back to just basic stuff for now. With 1.5 I may try to get more soon.
-
1.5 seems very stable, regardless of all the extensions I have loaded. But I may cut back on a few that aren\'t really necessary.
-
I\'ve used Safari, but right now I use Firefox.
-
Damn you LIC...!!
Well I removed about 3 extensions and Firefox does seem a bit faster now.
-
My firefox crashes every once in awhile, but that is where I use Firefox a lot. I may try Opera - but right now, I use Firefox.
-
Have you tried Firefox yet?
-
DAMNIT MAN. I SAID I USE FIREFOX. USE YOUR EYES, USE YOUR EYES!!!
-
I know you use Firefox...but have you used Firefox yet?
-
I use it, but it crashes all the fucking time. Very annoying.
-
Something is wrong with your computer. You should fix that. Mine rarely ever crashes.
-
Opera sucks balls
Alot of those wonderful features/extensions you love in firefox is nothing more than a cheap imitation from the Opera browser, even the die-hard Firefox supporters agree that many of Firefox\'s most popular features were invented and popularized by Opera and yet Opera\'s feature set is far more extensive that anything Firefox will ever have and the reason for that is because opera is the breeding ground for web surfing innovation.
With Firefox not all of the extensions work well together, and every time the browser is upgraded, the extensions break and must be downloaded and re-installed.
Opera is a wonderful browser, small, tightly coded and surf\'s faster, it’s now free(since OCT 2005) and runs faster and uses less memory than Firefox. Its greatest attraction is innovation. The Opera design team introduced many new features for both browsers and e-mail. Even the vaunted Google had borrowed from Opera\'s mail feature set. Opera\'s feature set is huge, well-designed and presented with an intuitive interface. For those whose needs are more complex, more complex features are available.
FireFox is Popular for 3 Main Reasons
#1 it\'s Free
#2 It\'s 10x better than that Peice of Shlt known as IE
#3 it\'s Open Source
Take a look at it;s simplicity and beauty

IS IT FREE?
If not - no sell.
That\'s why I use FIREFOX.
...
/uses Firefox.
-
Living-In Clip read carefully my friend, OPERA is FREE!!! It has been since around sept/oct 2005.
-
LIC what browser do you use?
-
Opera browsing doesn\'t feel as smooth as browsing in Firefox (it doesn\'t feel as "stable")...I have a lot of problems viewing certain pages with Opera even with the latest version installed.
With Firefox not all of the extensions work well together, and every time the browser is upgraded, the extensions break and must be downloaded and re-installed.
Rarely.
Opera is a wonderful browser, small, tightly coded and surf\'s faster
No, it doesn\'t surf faster, not after I installed FasterFox. Opera has a default function that allows you to change the amount of connections, but that\'s all it lets you do. Fasterfox has many more tweaks that make it quite a faster experience.
The only thing I use Opera for is when I use YouSendIt.com to send nearly 1GB files...it\'s the only browser that doesn\'t time out or bring up an error after sending for 8 hours. So in that respect, I like Opera.

And what\'s funny is that I would have expected a free browser to suck. Its the best browser I\'ve ever used.

This is funny since doubt the majority of you were on the web when web browsers cost money.
-
