What the hell?
I just upgraded to the new aim and honestly, while it looks nice, it\'s really overbearing. Like every AOL product, you don\'t just get what you want, you get every product they offer. Now I have AOL Browser, it\'s like AOL was trying to take over my computer... all this from a simple upgrade. I\'ve tried other applications like Trillian, but they just got too buggy, so I reverted back to AIM. Now unfortunately, I think I\'m gonna go back to an older version so I don\'t have to put up with AOL Explorer and the other crap that comes with it.

Use DeadAIM.

No.
Use Trillian.

Trillain was a piece of crap. It bugged out and stopped displaying my buddies. In other words, it sux0rz.
As for deadaim, it doesn\'t work on Triton.

I use DeadAIM now but I uninstalled AIM because I was having problems with DeadAIM and I just wanted to start fresh. I couldn\'t find the basic AIM. I had to search the site extensively for it. All I could find was AIM Triton. Eventually I followed a few links and found it.
I did see the new AIM on my friends computer. It looks cool but its too much for me. I\'m very content with DeadAIM.

Adium all the way.

That\'s because only a certain version of AIM works with DeadAIM. If you keep upgrading AIM, it will no longer be compatible.

That\'s only for Apple PC\'s.

No shit sherlock, did I say otherwise?

You didn\'t say anything actually, which is why I pointed it out. I had to look for it online to find out it was only an Apple program.

My wife updated to the new AIM Triton or whatever while I was away, what a bloated piece of crap. I just went back and downloaded an older version from this site.

How bout them chiefs Jbean ;)

:crying:

I haven\'t upgraded my AIM in a long time, just because of all the shit they\'ve been tacking onto it.
You could do a google search for Java Aim and use the first one that comes up. I\'ve used that at work a couple times. It\'s pretty stripped down, but works.

I just downloaded it because of your suggestion. It\'s incredibly simple and fast. I like it.
