Title: mp3 players
Post by: Titan on December 01, 2005, 08:54:59 AM
I think I\'m gonna join the 21st century and get an mp3 player. Any suggestions? And if anyone says iPod, I\'m gonna kick them in the nuts. I just don\'t want an iPod. I personally don\'t like them much. But any suggestions on a different one? Perhaps cheaper?

I\'ve enjoyed my creative MP3 players.  Had a jukebox very early on when HDD players were just coming out.  Bought at muvo slim @ 512 which was pretty cheap, holds enough, and weights nothing and is about the size of 4-5 credit cards stacked.

Find a store with lots of players on display and go and play with them some.  They all have +/- features, and it\'s really and individual choice.

(e) had a pretty good looking mp3 player from a thread a while back about ipod\'s. I broke down and bought an ipod cuz of the student discount, but my brother has a creative mp3 player and he likes it a lot.

i think he has this one: http://www.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=213&subcategory=216&product=13805

I\'d go with iRiver or Archos players

I\'m liking those Creative mp3 players. Maybe I should take a ride to Best Buy later and check them out.

That one is pretty small too. I\'d just be afraid I\'d lose it. That one is on the top of my list though.

I went to Best Buy today to check out the Zen Micro. It looks sweet, exact size I need and it isn\'t an iPod :p The best feature that I like is that it has a built in voice recorder that I can use for lectures. I\'m gonna poke around for some prices for the 5-6 gig ones and make a decision. I only have 17 days until my b\'day though.

I got it for my birthday and it took a while to organize my music (but got the hang of it now). All I have to say is the Creative Zen Micro is awesome. I got the FM transmitter and a case and now I\'m set. It is so freaking cool. I just need to buy an A/C and D/C adapter but right now I don\'t think I need one since the battery life is amazing (i was shocked to see the size of the battery and the life you get from it). I recommend this over iPod any day. It even looks better :)

Jar, my mom bought it from B&H. You get the 6 GB from them for the same price as the 5 GB (retail).

Decent for the price.

can you pick exactly what song you want on the shuffle? does it even have a screen?

I thought i was just like 50-60 songs in random order.

It\'s called the Shuffle because you can\'t select songs. It shuffles everything.

It\'s also only 512MB.

i can use my mobile (http://extranet.holomatix.com/three-hst9837/lg_u880/3_3d_lg_u880.html) as a mp3 player.  Has external display and buttons for it. But i just don\'t bother with mp3s unless i\'m in my car. Then my headunit will play them anyway.

earbuds don\'t stay in my ears. In fact any in-ear-type thingys drive me nuts. And walking around with my bose headphones isn\'t an option, really. I really only use my ipod mini in my bedroom to go to sleep to.

I like the zen, though. I also like the ipod nano. kyoko has one. She\'s already lost it for a week.

What is so good about the Zen micro? I was actually going to buy one of the Sandisk players tomorrow morning and after seeing this thread I\'m having second thoughts.
