Man i hate repair bills.I have been telling my wife we needed to get my explorer to the garage.
(1) because i wanted there to be a decent vehicle on the road.
( 2) Our mercury sable totally sucks in the snow.
Well we both realized this is inspection month, so another reason to get it down there. Now my truck, has really seen no use except for my wife driving it to work three times since my stroke. In fact i last drove it three days prior to the stroke. So that makes it Dec 29 2003. Well i had it towed to the garage, thank you for AAA.
And so for starters, the undercarriage is pretty rusty, and the drivers side has a lot of rust. Sofor starters i have to get the body fixed before it can be inspected.
The battery needs replacement, as does the starter
Also the brakes were getting low,as maria and i thought.
Well yesterday they were doing some work on it checking out the brakes and such. They took her out for a test drive this morning. And of course some wonderful dingbat cut them off. THhey hit the brakes hard and they blew the brake lines. And of course the rotors are not looking good at all
So you see im friggin happy
I know the truck is in bad shaspe its a 92 with 176,000 miles
but i do not have the money to replace the truck, i only need it to get through one more inspection.
I bought her used in 97, and all in all it has been a great truck.
Sorry just had to rant, dont mind me.

I hate cars also! My brakes were working wonderfully then one day it sounds like they just start grinding, no warning at all leading up to this. God knows my next paycheck will go solely to it. All cars are is a fucking money pit.
It kinda feels good to have a thread to just bitch about vehicles.
-
I just spent 500 dollars on fucking tires and an allignment, I was fuck tires are expensive, although I almost died driving in the rain last week so I was happy to have them put on
-
yeah you\'re not alone, just spent a whole lot of money on a bunch of things, first the exhaust thingie went broke and poor Ganymede (my car) farted like there was no tomorrow, got that fixed and then something went broke and I got it fixed and then the water cooling thingie broke and Ganymede got a fever.
But now he\'s out of the hospital and is feeling better then ever.

never buy chevy. My 03 had 9k miles on it when I bought. I have had the breaks done. Cost me $300. Had to have my alternator custom built. For entertainment purpose. My car was doing all types of crazy stuff. Bought a bigger battery. Had my car full-service.
With parts and labor I can say that so far I have spent close to $900 on the car and I got 17K miles now. The brakes are grinding I sware. Well I got the life-time warranty on the seramic brake pads.
I took the car in a while ago they said the brakes were new. And it was all in my head. I sware these auto places get over. I will be having them rechecked soon.
-
my civic has 140k miles on it and all I have to do is change the oil on it. Life is good.
Oh and quddus, thank god I\'m not a grammar nazi. Your english is a trainwreck.
-
cars are a real pita. It\'s like a multi-thousand dollar exoskeleton that travels really fast yet can\'t bump into anything.
-
idf you want to bitch about something, bitch about busses.
In the uk, in many places, they have their very own lanes on roads, yet they still feel the need to cut you up when it most inconveniences you.
-
Sorry never driven a bus, so i got no complaints
-
last gm vehicle i had was a 91 gmc sonoma pickup. It was great at first then i started going through starters faster then socks .Turned out the transmission brace was broken so everytime i hit a bump the bell housing of the transmission slammed into the starter breaking them in half.So now im back to fords.
-
But you haven\'t spent a dime on it in 2 years. Kind of hard to complain about spending money on a car that doesn\'t cost you any money.
-
I\'m on my 3rd chevy, I\'ve never spent a dime other than 2 blown tires and oil changes...that\'s why leasing works for me...(not that any of the vehicles ever needed anything...)

What year is the Sable? My mom has a 2001 Sable and it drives fine in the snow. Well, better than my T-bird. V8 + rear wheel drive + snow=helluva ride

whelp i just had to change the exhaust on the metro, and i spent close to 300 for tires on the lex...i just tried to get an alignment down here and the first thing that comes outta these country boys mouth is "dang! this car must\'ve came from up north!,..there\'s alot of rust under this thing"..:p...meh that\'s what happens when drive around in snow and salt....heh and titan, i feel you with your T-bird,..the lex is rear-drive as well,..and i had to drive in the snow, a couple of times in that thing, and i know,..that s**t is scary....i was on rt 22 in bridgewater & i was literally going down the road sideways,...and with traction control.....:p
-
The sable is a 2000, i keep telling my wife jokeingly she should get snow tires for the front. Does not go over very well,i thought maria was going to kill me.
-
A metro clips those things are not much bigger then a ice skate and what year is the lexus ? I hate driving in snow, my wife is from brockton, so rte 22 in bridgewater is a road i know very well.I wish we could move somewhere warm year round but maria refuses to even think about moving/.

heh heh, yea the metro is pretty small but it gets incredible gas mileage..and it costs less than 13.00 bucks to fill up on mid-grade...:fro:...the lex is a 95 sc-400...still runs good, but my kids are starting to get a wee bit bigger,...i\'ve always stated that my next car would be the infiniti g-35,...but now it\'s lookin like i\'m gonna have to get a truck...maybe a late model expedition or tahoe...:(...i\'d get rid of the metro and keep the lex...i\'m not big on trucks like that anyway,...my wife can have the truck and i\'ll stick to slick speedy two door coupes..:fro:....heh my wife tells me that those two door coupes are for single guys with no kids....she tells me that i need to be drivin\' around in a caravan!..:p
-
We\'re going to get a new car in a couple months. Poor wife has been driving our darn altima for a year longer than we intended. Will probably get a truck or something and I\'ll just drive it and she can drive the 330.
-
Hey vid 330 as in a lexus rx330 i have heard those things are awesome
-
I hear you loud and clear clips small or not if it gets good miles to the tank why complain. I have pretty much been a gm man most of my life. The only time i went non conventional is when my daughters were born and i ended up getting a huge olds delta88 4 door it was a 81 that had been converted to deisel. I remember the dashboard reminded me of a fighter jet had so many lights on it. Yes it smelled but for 50 miles to the gallon i lived with it. Finally the wife complained so much i trade it in. Her to about two years later. LOL, i am trying to decide what to get next, my last four vehicles have been trucks. If i dont go explorer or expedition i may seriously look at a lexus.

Seriously. Rt. 22 in Bridgewater is insane. I have trouble getting up some of those hills in the rain, let alone snow. If I was down the mountain at taht time, I would be so f***ed.
-
So titan it sounds like you live around that area, i feel for you

Vid\'s 330 is a BMW....and it\'s nice

Never heard of those towns. They in Jersey?

Know the feeling. I had planned to use my bonus check to get new brakes, but after taxes and by the time I paid other bills, there was nothing left for the brakes. I imagine I will just work some OT and get it done.
Damnit.

Awesome. I don\'t think I\'ll ever leave Jersey. I like it here. We are a very unique state. Plus we got the shore. I can\'t wait to go down the shore this summer :)
-
We are a very unique state.
Yeah... So is every other state.
-
Ok you like it there, what else makes it unique, besides the shore.Mass has shores to but i have to drive 100 miles to get there.

I got some links to some Jersey joke sites. I\'ll post a couple. Its more of the nuts drivers that make the state unique. That and the way we talk and smell :p

These are the things when I meant it was a really unique state. I know every state has its own individuatlity but these are just fun facts:

Boy, sure makes me want to live there.
# New Jersey has the highest cost of living.
# New Jersey has the highest cost of auto insurance.
# New Jersey has the highest property taxes in the nation.
New Jersey has more Cubans in Union City (1 sq. mi.) than Havana, Cuba.
New Jersey has the most dense system of highways and railroads in the US.
Not sure if you noticed or not Titan. But Jersey sucks.

Heh :p. I would like to take a trip to Alaska though. Looks quite pretty up there and I\'m sure I can do a lot of camping and stuff.
-
Take a trip through the Matanuska valley :smokin:. Almost 24hrs of sunlight in summer! Not much in terms of civilization - but its amazing.
I dont think I could live anywhere else than Alaska now- I\'m sure I\'ve said that a million times, but its true.
I couldn\'t stand living in a big city. I would die. Skyscrapers, pollution, lots of people, highways, wtf!
-
I like where I live. (could be warmer, but oh well...) I am 15 minutes from a beach, an hour from Toronto, 10 minutes from casinos, 2 pro sports teams, 7 hours from NYC and the ocean, 5 hours from the adirondack mountains, 40 minutes from ski resorts, cool music / art scene. The only thing we get is snow, and you can shovel that. No hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, sinkholes, mudslides, forest fires, tsunamis or anything. Housing is cheap.
just wish it stayed 70 degrees all year :)
-
isn\'t she pretty? ;)

24 hours of sunlight? Damn, that\'s a tanner\'s dream. I too probably woudln\'t adapt to a big city. I live in suburbs and I like it there. Not much traffic, easy to get around. The only downside is the suburbs I live at there is nothing to do except go to the mall or Dunkin Donuts. But New Jersey has a lot of highways and they can be fun if you are bored enough :)
-
I have always wanted to take a trip to alaska and see it

yea i gotta agree while i was livin in jersey i thought i would never leave it...new york was only an hour away the shore was about 45 min to an hour away.... best shore in jersey to me was wildwood and seaside..:fro:....but ultimately i had to make a power-move...it was either buy an old ass home that was expensive with high taxes or buy a brand new home in tha south with lower taxes for less than half the price....everybody that i run into down here in georgia is either from new jersey or new york anyway...and the first thing that comes outta their mouth when i talk to them is....that the houses and taxes up north is unbearable...while i do miss jersey i think i made the right choice movin down here....
-
In my part of New Jersey we only have the property taxes, insurance, cost of living.
We group our Cubans and highways elsewhere.
Just 3 out of 5 please.

I went to Seaside for my prom weekend but this past summer I was at Belmar all the time because my exgirlfriend had a beach house. Otherwise, I\'d usually go to Seagirt and Point Pleasant for the boardwalk. Good thing about Point Pleasant is the boardwalk is open all year round so there is still stuff to do. I took a day trip down there in like March or April with my ex and a couple friends.

Trucks fine, as a matter of fact i got to drive it last weekend, first time since the stroke. AH But me im feelin like total crud, i cant stay out of the bathroom.
