http://earth.google.com/
You guys ever mess with this? Pretty cool. You can start wide where you see the whole earth, pan all around, go wherever and zoom all the way in as far as you could want to go.
Pretty freaking cool.

I thought I made a thread of this already.
Google Earth is awesome. It\'s always suprises my friends on how detailed you can get. I spend alot of times just exploring, it\'s very entertaining... :smokin:

I don\'t trust Google.

Google earth is the shit. I use it for planning trips and stuff. Best free map program available. Plus, I can find my house :)
-
At first glance it looks like a simple gimmick with fancy animations but that program is actually pretty useful. I\'ve used it to find many restaurants in the DC area
ie- remembered the approximate location of an indian place & wanted to call em for reservations but didn\'t know the name. I found the place on Google Earth with full address, phone number, cuisine type, etc... and we lived happily ever after.
It\'s like browsing through a city looking for a place to eat/tourist attraction without being there. Pretty soon I\'ll never have to leave my house again!

Satellite is at least 4 years old for my neighborhood. Still my old truck in driveway and Logan\'s day care isn\'t built.
-
It\'s neat to type in a city from some foreign country and check it out.

I can see my old pickup in the lot at my job...
-
I\'ve been using it for a while now, with the latest update, they have finally added pictures covering my area (though they are a little less quality than the rest). When I can be arsed, I might add some from my region.

teh old

Watered down GIS - not impressed.

Same with my town. The high school doesn\'t even have any construction equipment or anything and they\'ve been working on the new buildings for a couple years now.

And mine.
There is a rugby club up the road from where I live that has been there for about at least 3 years. On the satellite view, it\'s just an open field

I was told that there is a real time one too similar to google earth. You can even see people and cars moving.
