Post by: PS2_-'_'-_PS2 on December 18, 2005, 10:42:45 AM
The old Soundking ampy doesnt cut it anymore.
Still have a pretty bad guitar, but  its better to get a good amp before I invest in a good guitar so im looking for one, what do u think:

Quite cheap for a valve amp, good deal tho and do you think id need a bigger one? like maybe 100 W? hopefully playing live at some point.

Never played that particular amp, but used to have a vox AC30. Very loud amp, sort of limited sound range, kinda hollow & treble-y. But if that\'s yer thing, then by all means. Sounds like it\'s a modeling amp with a 12ax7 thrown in the preamp stage to warm things up. But if you feed that into a solid state power stage, it usually sounds cheap.

I used to have this amp: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=guitar/search/detail/base_pid/480508/

It\'s cheaper than other all-tube amps, and sounds amazing. plus it\'s crazy loud. I also think you can find them pretty cheap on ebay.

back to the amp in question, try it out if you can. Or get a Tube Driver pedal, and throw that thing into any amp. Hot.

well I have two small ones right now a 25w Fender and a 30w Line6, serving me good as long as I\'m just playing for myself.

Anyhoo, little too add except thumbs up for the Vox.
