Okay, so I got\'s about $1500 to spend. I don\'t need it to be huge, just HDTV.

how big?  Floor standing?  Table top?  Do you have an HD receiver or does your cable company offer it?

Those 32" Samsung LCDs go for about that much.  They look pretty nice to me.

I don\'t realy care how big or whether I\'ll need to get a stand for it.

I can\'t get one that has to be hang on a wall though. My cable company will give me a HD reciever.

Actually, I have stopped watching television since 2 years already.

Tv has commercialized so much in
recent years, it effects the content
of tv programs. The epitome of decadence.

Yeah, I do have a 21" Sony wega, but
it\'s only for my PS2 and Xbox.

For news I read the newspaper and
the internet.

I\'d never spend more than 500 Euros
on a tv screen.

Whatever happened to TLC and Discovery? They turned into a house redecorating channel or "how to turn yer car into a lawn mower" channel.

I used to watch those two for content. Now it\'s marketing to the Martha Stewart or NASCAR fans.

amazing how cheap tvs are getting.  I haven\'t had the time to look at what\'s in the price range, but that\'s pretty much what you are looking for.  Buy as large as you can afford.  Watching 4x3 material on a widescreen gives you a much smaller pic due to pillar boxing, so buy what you can.  I have a 56" from about 11 feet away and it\'s not bad.  Probably should have gone 62, but I had a stand already it would have looked funny on.


BTW, the pic of that tv, it\'s hard to tell where the stand ends and the tv begins.  Looks intigrated nicely.  You buying the stand too?

Mythbusters is a good show. I watch that whenever I can.
