Title: Tony Dungy\'s son commits suicide?

James Dungy, the 18-year-old son of Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy, was found dead at 1:30 a.m. ET Thursday in his apartment in Lutz, Fla., a suburb of Tampa, Debbie Carter, a spokesperson for the Hillsborough County Sheriff\'s Office, confirmed Thursday.

A death investigation is under way, and the spokesperson said that the county medical examiner\'s office or the hospital at which James Dungy was pronounced dead would have a ruling on the cause of death.

James Dungy officially was pronounced dead this morning at University Community Hospital in Tampa.

Tony Dungy has left the Colts and is in Tampa. Indianapolis plays at Seattle this Saturday.

So close to Christmas. Damn.

Christmas is the time when a much higher percentage of suicides occur.

Although I doubt if this kid is depressed in that sort of way.


Tony is a great man and it\'s sad to see this happen to him and his family.

I wonder what his relationship was like with his son. Did he go to school there in your area? Wonder why they weren\'t together, 18 is still young to be on yer own unless he was in college.

I really don\'t know.  I\'ve been out of sports for 6 years now so not sure.  When I was in sports I saw Tony just about every day.  His real young son use to tag along with me on the sidelines during practices all the time.  Cute kid.

i\'ve always like Tony Dungy, seems like a quality guy and a good coach.

I remember reading an article way back about when Dungy left for Indianapolis how his son stayed back with the Lynch family.  And they showed them all and everybody seemed so nice.  Real sad

wow, I bet he had it all, needs-wise.  Probably drove a nice car, wore nice clothes, and maybe had a nice gf.  can\'t buy happiness :\\
