Title: Kill Bill coming back to theaters
Post by: Joker on December 26, 2005, 04:54:52 AM
"Brit movie site The Digital Spy, which I found by way of the (rather awesome) Cinematical blog, shares a brief bit of news regarding the certifiably insane Quentin Tarantino and his plans to smoosh "Kill Bill" 1 & 2 back into one (long) movie.

""I want to cut the whole movie together like one big epic with an intermission in the middle like a 60s film," explained the iconic director. "It\'ll be coming out in theatres."

"I\'ve been holding off because I\'ve been working on it for so long that I just wanted a year off from Kill Bill and then I\'ll do the big supplementary DVD package.""
--

As much as we (and by "we" I mean hardcore movie geeks) really dug the "Kill Bill" flicks, are we still all that hyped up to see it again in theaters? Either way, the re-release will undoubtedly yield a mega-swanky DVD edition that, yes, I know I\'ll be purchasing."

don\'t know how much love Kill Bill gets around here but this is good news for people like myself who didn\'t get to see either in theaters.

No, I think MM just hates movies that actually go to the big screen, he tends to like the straight to DVD ;)

Can someone tell me what was so great about Kill Bill?

Nothing exceptional about this movie at all. People see the QT, and its automatically \'good\'.

And now this? Ugh...

i thought the movies were good but not mind-blowing. This idea though is dumb. Not only do i get uncomfortable in long ass movies (let alone ones that iv already seen), but i cant stand intermissions. Whats there to do in an intermission? stretch and talk? fack that..i just get impatient till i can finish the movie/play. so theres no way in hell ill see it.

boo this brit team.

going to kind of hijack the thread but i didnt want to make a new one..

has anyone seen the previews to "when a stranger calls"? It looks so fucking stupid it pissed me off when i saw it..the fact the director got money, and the actress got money for it PISSED me off. When she says "STOP CALLING!" and the police interrupts and says "THE CALLS COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE!!" ahhhhh..sorry..

I like this new \'intermissions\' idea though, totally original.

Every film rips off another.

Q.T has always said that he \'Kill Bill\' was a hodge-podge of influences. I liked Volume 1, but didn\'t care for Volume 2. Was it as good as the material that inspired it? Nope.

I\'m not the kind that believes because QT made it that it is obviously going to be good.

no for me the best QT movie was Pulp Fiction and then Resevoir Dogs. Theres a lot of things that I liked in Kill Bill but I don\'t think its the end all be all movie experience. Little gripes like Umas sword play....was a little nauseating at times. But like I said...

I\'d like to see them in theaters.

pfft, doubt it\'ll be all that good.  Most likely, the dvd version will end up 2 dvds anyway.  Might as well just watch the kill bills the way they are.  This is just a money making scheme.
