I just had a bone and cartilage graft knee replacement surgery on December 21st. I\'ve been waiting for this final surgery for 6 years. If I had not had this surgery, my knee would\'ve only lasted 5 more years before completely falling apart. Yeah...shattered knees suck. Now my knee has about 30 years on it before I need a complete knee replacement...and by then, I\'m sure technology will have made some advancements.
Anyway...this may be a cause for celebration for some of you because I will not be posting on here as much...if at all...for a month or two. I\'ll be on crutches for 2 months and it will take 6 months before I feel "normal" again. I\'ll have to go to my first 2 weeks of next semester on crutches, which pretty much blows. Anyway, I hope you all had a great Christmas (or whatever) and I hope your New Year brings you many great things in life. I guess you could say I got a new knee for Christmas...hehe.
Anyway...I\'ll see you guys around. Take care and peace.

How does crutches effect a posting?
Hmmm..
LIAR!
;)
Get well.
-
The crutches don\'t effect my posting. The knee hurting like holy hell is what effects my posting. ;) I\'m on some pain meds right now so I\'m ok for a few. But I have to stay on this CPM (Continuous Passive Motion) machine for at least 8 hours a day, so that my knee heals properly. It keeps the blood flow even across my leg and keeps it from healing stiff and f^cked up.
And thanks.
-
Hope the healing process goes smoothly...
I was wondering what happened to you.
-
Goodluck on it dude.
limb joints are indeed very crucial for mobility.
-
Man that sucks, how\'d it happen/ is it genetic? I think my knee is kind of messed up too, but it bothers me rarely I use to here a pop in the back of my knee everyone in awhile when I was in high school and it would cramp up here and there and I wouldn\'t be able to run on it well.
-
I got a bad elbow from a snowboarding accident I had once, but nothing like what you have.
Good luck and have a speedy recovery
-
Hope everything goes good for ya Evi and hope to see ya back soon :)

My lady has real bad knees and is going to need replacment surgery sometime in the future.
Sucks.

Heh.. How she get the bad knees? you sly dog you.

I fell about 6 years ago I completely shattered my knee. However, I didn\'t know that until about 2 years ago because when I had my original surgery, the dumb fuck surgeons seemed to pass over the large chunk of my knee that was missing. So I\'ve been treating it like it\'s been fixed...which has made it 50 times worse.
I\'m surprised I never really felt pain while my knee slowly fell apart over the years. But now I\'ve found a kick ass surgeon and he\'s fixed it. My injury was actually a rare case and my doctor did a tutorial video with my surgery so he could show other doctors how to do this type of surgery. So I guess I\'ve given to the knee injury community or something.
What kind of pain killers?
Flintstones Kid\'s Chewable Morphine...just kidding. ;) Naww...they gave me these horse pill Percosets. They don\'t work nearly as well as the Morphine, but they help. I usually have to take two, but the walls start pulsing when I take that many.
And thanks for all the comments, guys. Gotta stay positive during this crappy time. On top of all this my great aunt got pneumonia and a few days ago they gave her a 10% chance to live...but now she\'s made a complete reversal recovery and now she\'s most likely going to get through this. :)
I dont understand why you could not, post at all?
I can only get on the computer for a few minutes at a time. It hurts so incredibly bad to get around on my crutches, dragging the weight of the splint around on my right knee. I get kind of dizzy and the pain is just too much right now. So I have to work up the will to get up and around. So I just prefer to stay in bed on pain meds...at least for the time being. It really sucks.

You need a better agent... :)

let\'s just hope they don\'t screw up on the operating table, one bad cut and that\'s it.
I once knew a guy who went under and he didn\'t come back out of it. Apparently there was a "mixup" in surgery, but we all know there are no "mixups", I think it was planned. I swear someone was hired to screw up the operation on purpose to kill this guy, and who knows I could be next. I think it\'s someone working for an elitist government.

What happened to your knee so you would have to get it operated?
-
Probably from sitting on his knees all the time.
Damn gay hookers.

I already explained it you bastard. I fell, twisted my knee in a weird way in mid-air, and landed on it in that position. It shattered, but I couldn\'t tell because it swelled up to the size of a soccer ball. It hurt worse than any injury I\'ve had...it sucked.
Moral of the story...don\'t fall from high places.
I should just make up a cool story instead of saying I just fell. Like...I was doing a backside 360 misty on my snowboard and as I was going across a rail pipe on a 50 foot crag, I fell off, rolled down the mountain and hit a patch of ice, shattering my knee.
-
Except we all know you aren\'t cool enough for such a story. Kudos for trying though.
But yeah, I dislocated my elbow in a similar manner. I know how much it sucks.
-
Yes...you know all about what I do in life.
But yeah, I dislocated my elbow in a similar manner.
At least your elbow didn\'t completely shatter. I dislocated my knee once...it [the knee cap] got shoved almost completely to the side of my leg. I decided to stop playing football after that. Dislocating things sucks though, no doubt about it.

Oh ok.......
But what happened to your knee?

You deserve a quick swift kick to the teeth.
:)

:p

you guys are cute

You deserve a quick swift kick to the teeth.
Pretty much. :)
I\'m doing much better now. I finally started going to physical therapy...it hurts like a bitch. But it hurts less now that the 15 staples have been taken out of my leg. If I don\'t get my knee back to its full range of motion in 2-3 weeks...I\'ll have to have another surgery where my knee is forced into the range of motion...and that...will fucking hurt like hell. So I\'m trying my best to get it back to normal by myself and through my therapy sessions. Gawd this sucks, but I\'m glad I\'m healing now...instead of waiting to get this damn leg fixed. I had this injury almost 7 years ago. Life\'s been a bitch. But there are others who\'ve been through so much worse, so all I can do is be thankful and not complain.
-
Is your knee ok now?
-
Fess up, Evis. You borked your knee from too much kneeling due to your insatiable appetite to give felatio.
-
Sammy is a very demanding person. He\'ll make anyones knees go bad :)
-
Is your knee ok now?
Are you actually this retarded, or are you joking again? It\'ll be 6 months before I\'m fully recovered...and after that time, I have to get an MRI to see if everything went well. Therapy sucked ass today...I was in there for over an hour. They made me do this thing that let the force of gravity pull my knee down and it hurt like hell. I just took two Vicodin for the pain...hopefully it\'ll help.
Sammy is a very demanding person. He\'ll make anyones knees go bad
Yeah...that bastard!!
-
Oh ok.Is your knee doing fine now? :D
-
Die!! :)
-
I love you too :p
-
Sorry I hadn\'t replied earlier evx, u posted this when I was on vacation and it moved down the list. :\\
But good to see you\'re taking this in stride. I know you\'ll come out of this a stronger person and with your new bionic knee you should be able to jump to da moon.
Seriously though, get better and take it slowly, even if it gets annoying because you can\'t do the things you used to so easily. Priority 1 should be getting healed up first.
-
try a couple of jack & cokes with those vicodin...that should help out a bunch.
Good luck, brutha. I shattered my wrist when I was 14, surgery, pins, etc...I know the pain of rehab well.
