Title: Adding extra speakers to a home theater
Post by: juslight on January 07, 2006, 04:45:06 PM
I have a JVC home theater system like the one below.

(https://psx5central.com/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.jvc.com%2FResources%2F00%2F00%2F59%2F25.JPG&hash=64312cc8646e1b167721da57b8929f75f3618af0)

I just received a set of small Yamaha surround sound speakers for free and I was wondering if I should add the speakers to my system.  Do any of you know if adding the speakers would be a good idea?  One of my friends said that he thinks it might be too many speakers for the system to power and still sound good.

I know some of you have nice setups at home and might know something about this.

Thanks.

I just installed the extra back 2 surround speakers up in the back corners near the ceiling.  It sounds better to me.

I think I\'m going to install the extra front left and right speakers in the front corners of the room.

Please don\'t do that. That Reciever is made for a specific impedence and wattage use, and adding more speakers could cause the reciever to blow.
