Had since 2001. Rest in peace.
Tried everything I could think of. Lens cleaner cd, cleaned lens manually, blew out dust. Still when I boot on, get a little sound and no picture. Then no sound and no picture. I tried search function but found nothing more to try than i already have.
Any ideas? Oh yeah, I did try the freezer ;) SCPH30001R
Sorry I missed a zero.

might be a dumb idea..but sometimes those work. Are you AV cables messed up? The white and yellow plugs (think theyre called AV)..kind of sounds like the info just isnt getting to the tv.
If it is the ps2 and u tried all that id declare it dead.

Throw it off the roof of the nearest tall building to sacrifice it to the PS3 gods.

What model to you have? Seems like you\'re missing a digit in that number. I have the SCPH-30001 and after I adjusted the laser height, no problems. Although, I am getting some loud noises coming from it recently. I dunno if its damaged from transporting from school to home or if its getting old or what. May be nohting.

Have you tried placing the PS2 upsidedown, that works for mine sometimes.

ths PS2 I had since joining these forums way back in \'01 died earlier this year (edit// late last year).
With an unusual glut of cash in my pocket doing nowt, I decided to buy a new one a few months ago (one of those streamline ones), which also now seems to be showing signs of premature ageing.
I have a good mind to take it back while it\'s still under warrantee, and wait for the PS3 to come out.
When is the PS3 due out again (in europe)?

A long time from now ;)

My ps2 died before I registered.

My launch PS2 is still workin\', but I have given it to my father when I moved out. I never really played it all that much, combine that with the fact he is disabled and loves playing Madden, well, it just seemed like the right thing to do. If or when it dies, I will just go ahead and buy him another one.
