Damn I\'d love to have a trademark on that term. Then all the people who can\'t say Super Bowl in their advertisments and are instead saying "The Big Game" can pour some money on me.
-
I don\'t underand that.
Does the NFL prevent people from saying "Super Bowl"?
-
The Big Game? Meh...I guess it depends on what season it is coz it could be anything from the World Series to the Final Four.
-
You don\'t notice that on the radio all those gambling ads, the circuit city / best buy ads, etc. etc. etc. can\'t say Super Bowl?
See. Now that you know that it will drive you crazy too.
-
whoa, didn\'t know that. and yea haha now it\'s gonna drive me nuts.
Why can\'t they say Supperbowl?
-
because companies pay millions for the rights to be official sponsors so they CAN say it.

No but the NFL can prevent anyone from profitting on their name rights without compensation.
Just like bands who play cover tunes. You can play any song you want at a concert, you just cannot record, reproduce, or profit from the cover song without som esort of agreement / compensation.
Too many companies were advertising SuperBowl this and Superbowl that and the NFL wasn\'t seeing a dime in royalties. Now anyone who uses "Superbowl" has obvioulsy paid for the right, and is properly the "official" blah blah of the Superbowl / nfl.
-
hence why I want to treademark "The Big Game" Pay up bitches!!!
-
Went to myspace and saw an ad for the Big Game.
Never noticed it before. Now I\'ll see it all over.
K, thx.
