Go play Mercenaries.

It\'s similar, but different enough to be given a try. I personally think it\'s better than San Andreas.

You could try Scarface when that comes out.

It\'s a GTA knockoff (which itself was something of a Scarface knockoff) and it\'s made by Radical unlike EA\'s Godfather. Radical has one actually decent GTA-clone under its belt with the Simpsons Hit and Run.

Could probably find that one cheap if you want some silly, GTA-style fun.

Scarface, btw, will feature Pacino\'s likeness and a voice actor who sounds more like a young Pacino than Pacino does. I\'m kinda looking forward to that one.

I still play GTA SA, I started it again a few weeks ago after not playing it for ages, when there\'s nothing much doing, I put it on and play a bit.

It\'s amazing how used to the size of it you get, when it first came out, it seemed huge, now it seems anything but that.

When I get done with it, I might even give VC another go, it\'s been something like 18 months to 2 years since I played that one.

God knows how long it\'s been since I played GTA III.

I foolishly lent SA to a "friend" almost a year ago and haven\'t seen it since. I never even got off the 1st island. :(

I got SA last Christmas and I\'ve still barely played it. I mean I wanna but I don\'t have time with school and stuff.

I start out loving all the GTAs. But after a while i either hit a mission that i cant pass (i really suck at certain things like aiming/pointing on consoles)..then I have to go through the driving and all the easy bs just to get to a part i die at again. or i just get tired of not being able to go 5 feet past the home before being shot up by everyone.

Might start playing it again though after seeing this thread.

Not sure when the next GTA would come out since itll probably be like 8 months after they say its being released..whenever that is.

forgot..im stuck on supply lines..the one with Zero and u have to shoot 5 delvery guys..2 of them are far as balls so you have to wait forever and hope they come close to you. Never have and i always run out of gas.

Yea I played Liberty City Stories for probably fifteen minutes and never touched it again. :/

I personally think the series needs a break.

if you\'re talkin\' about that remote controlled airplane...then you can skip those missions(ZERO) and it won\'t effect your progress through the storyline...i think EVERYBODY got stuck on that mission...that mission was total bulls**t! SA was the only gta that i ever finished...well i never played vc and couldn\'t get off the 1st island in the 1st one. i will probably end up trading in that 1st one, even tho i won\'t get any money for it...

the way i figure it, i dont even bother trading in that old of a game. The oldest i do is like madden 05 before 06 comes out, and maybe 2 years old. But after that youll get what..2 bucks? at least around me the places suck like that. No harm in a former 50 buck game sitting around instead of selling it for a pack of gum.

Plus its gta and you havent beaten it.

Ur right about the mission though..cant stand that crap. I also have a hard time keep track of missions and stuff because i like doing all the missions from one guy before going around and doing other missions (like im doing missions for triad..but i can also buy property to give me more missions)..hard to explain what i dont like about it, but its just hard to keep track of stuff.

edit: i forgot..is there any point in trying to get all gold in those school things? i did it for the car and nothing special happened...dont really want to try with the planes.

I just started playing VC again last weekend.  I actually like VC quite a bit more than SA.  The setting and music are better, in my opinion.

I haven\'t finished SA yet, I\'m somewhere in Vegas, or whatever it\'s called in the game.  I was lucky enough to beat Supply Lines in a few tries, it was that rc plane mission that took at least 20 tries.  I cannot stand that fail mission, reload game, drive back to mission, try again BS.  If I ever play SA again, it\'ll probably be on PC.  Can you save as you go in the PC version?

i had more of a problem with the fail mission, relaod, drive back to mission BS in vice city. I got to some mission where you break some guy out of jail..i get through the prison with barely any health, then i either got shot trying to get to the car or i got rammed off the road, car caught on fire, then got shot by the time i reached another car (since u get like 5 stars off the bat)..that mission killed VC for me.

Same here, I forgot how different the control method between the 2 was. I\'d have prefered that they kept the car steering method for SA the same as VC, giving the option of driving with the buttons, rather than with the stick, but SA allows you to rotate the camera as you drive/walk/run, which was an improvement.

this is why i get sick of this damn game. the moment they actually give u an incentive to take over territories and stuff, theres like 5 times as many cops around so its impossible shooting people..not impossible but 2 of the 5 times i attack it gets f-ed up because theres 3 cops walking around, 2 on motorcycles, and about 3 cop cars.

tedious crap

I don\'t think I\'ve ever found that to be the case, there are the occasional cop car that drives past, or the odd bike, but I didn\'t see a significant rise in the ammount. All I did when I came across them, was when I found some gang members, back up, and let the car get a bit further down the road, then kill 3 gang members as quick as possible.

If the cops are far enough away, you don\'t get any wanted stars, as soon as you kick off a turf war, it prevents any new cars/bikes/police/peds from spawning

Just went and bought SA again, that wank never answered the phone when I was trying to get them back. Karma will get him.

FUCK! the "Greatest Hits" version they sell for $20 will not read my old GTA SA file! I gotta start over! All that time in the GYM wasted.

it only takes about 5 or so turns in the gym to get max muscle, it\'s the stamina that takes most time to get.

The "greatest hits" version, is that the new version they rushed out to calm the waters after someone found out about the coffee mod?

i\'ve always wondered about that...i think the code was only found on the pc version?......i don\'t think there was any way to unlock it on the console versions....

There was, for at least one of the systems.  Using one of those game loader game genie game shark things.

Bottom line was, that code was buried in each game so they recalled them...

Rockstar did the right thing in the first place, it censored itself and took that scene out of the gameplay.

I heard there was. The required files & shit was allegedly put into the game by rockstar from the beginning, on all versions of it, they just didn\'t make it accessable to the player. A friend sent me a link to a site that had it on there, they claimed it could be done by downloading an application that allows you to remove the sensor feature and modifies some of the files that prevents it.

According to what it said, you just needed to transfer your save file off the memory card, onto the PC, run an application that removes the ingame sensor system, then resave and transfer it back to the memory card.

One of the side effects of it though, was that it supposedly caused problems with other parts of the game.

I never tried it myself, so I don\'t know if it worked or not.

edit//

just did a search on the net, and aparently you can enable it using gameshark/action replay codes
