not been here for so long.
so who has got a 360??? what they think of it???
whats your username??
im elzer0 on it, add me if you fancy playing ghost recon, about all i play online on it
-
My name is DFKillah.
I liked it at first, but the games are too expensive. I haven\'t used it at all lately except for to play DVDs.
I have some Best Buy coupons though, so I will drop in and pick up Fight Night Round 3.
Some decent launch games, but the drought since then and the high cost of games is disappointing to me...

My roommate has it. It\'s kept me occupied between Call of Duty and Geometry Wars.
-
not buying one till halo 3 is released and proven to be worthy
i know too many people that "just had to have one", paid 500$ and do nothing but play geometry wars on it
-
You\'re only waiting for Halo...WTF?
-
what other title won\'t be coming out on PC or PS3?
-
well i know i won\'t be picking up an 360,...but there was that gears of war game that peaked my interest...hopefully they\'ll make a version for ps3...
-
What, are you saying Geometry Wars isn\'t worth $500? :p
-
I think I\'ll pick one up this year. At that time there should be quite a bit of games I want.
-
same as mm
is cod2 still the best game availabel for it?
-
I\'m not getting it. I\'m still a playstation gamer. I\'m kinda looking forward to the Nintendo console too :)

Well, GRAW seems to be getting great reviews as well.
-
for graphics
the gameplay is still 1996 with stupid AI
-
i really enjoy gwar, though have played it online mostly ( take my xbox and we both go online, 2 tvs, two xbox360). i thought most title ones where a let down to be honest, oblivion next..... w00t.
there not that bad, i work in a shop which sells the games, so i get them way cheaper....
-
GRAW is amazing. Playing 12 player coop with the Penny Arcade community has been real fun.
Running around shooting Mexican rebels then accidentally blowing up half our team will never be boring.
mm, still hating huh?

don\'t waste your cash on FNR3. Game is just crap. I prefer FNR2 anyday. If you\'re in it for eye candy get fnr3. But if you\'ve gone through fnr2. You\'ll most likely hate the game.
-
Never played FNR or FNR2 so FNR3 is great for me. Believe it or not, I actually like the music and the career mode is a lot of fun. Graphics certainly don\'t hurt either.
GRAW (not GWAR or G-Raw) is amazing. Yes, the AI is stupid, but the game still plays very well. I enjoy how you can tactically approach situations differently every time and consider alternatives as well. Simply running headlong into enemies is a good way to get you killed so it\'s good to do Recon and really think about your options. Oh and shooting the mini gun from the side of a blackhawk with 5.1ss blazing in full 720p is unmatched in console gaming at the moment. I\'m sorry you\'re jaded, mm. Some people play games as a hobby, you apparently hate them as a hobby.
It\'s most ironic to me now considering you\'re an admin of a gaming forum no matter the banner it flies under.
On XBL, I\'m Bloodwall.
-
I\'ll definatly get this game when I get my X360 sometime this year.
-
I\'m in the same Fight Night boat as Ryu. And even though graphics aren\'t usually my thing, I\'d still like to play it on my HDTV...
This is the first I\'ve heard of GRAW, though. I\'ve never gotten into Ghost Recon games. Which would be a better purchase, that or COD2?
-Dan
-
neither

If you want a game that actually represents next-gen in nearly every aspect (save for AI as previously mentioned), then GRAW is your salvation.
-
Eik: GRAW.
-
neither
When did you play them?
-
...
I\'d have to find one first....
/zow!

Connecting my PSP to my 360 almost seems wrong.
-
You can?
-
You can?
Yeah, you can use it as another controller :fryingpan:
-
Heh have you tried that?
I guess it goes through the USB port?
-Dan
-
With the help of some homebrew, you can use it to transfer files and stream music. I also do this to charge the PSP.
No, you can\'t use it as a controller. He was joking.

i agree...and while i\'ve haven\'t played the 360 version, i\'ve played the ps2 version..and soully\'s right... fnr2 is way better than the 3rd....everything is just tighter in round 2,..round three to me feels rushed...
-
omg, he said rushed
-
I\'m considering buying one via Ebay , just haven\'t decided if I want to pull some OT for it or not.

Although I have to somewhat agree, playing this on live using my 62 inch HDTV is just far too amusing.

I would personally wait until the 360 is readily available in stores instead of paying extra.
One thing though, make sure you will enjoy live and have a constant source of people to play with.
-
It\'s true, offline, the Xbox 360 is not worth the money by any stretch of the imagination.
With Live, it\'s ... well it\'s still a lot of money. ;]
-Dan
-
It\'s totally worth it with Live. I don\'t think 16 player coop will ever get old.
-

I disagree. Never really played the others but this game is addictive as hell and worth every penny of the game and console. In my opinion of course.
-
Only reason I want one is for.
FNR3
Madden
Elder Scroll
Just not sure I want to actually...well, go to work and earn money for one.. I am looking at Ebgames online and they have this damn $500 dollar package, with three games I could care less about.
Which means, I then gotta pay for the other games and that just raises the damn cost. The "Pro System Bundle" plus the two games I would want (Madden and Fight Night) makes it $719.93. That is friggin\' outrageous. It would be nice if I could just find a Premium system (I want the online /HD / memory card/ etc) and just pick up the two damn games I want. I have zero interest in Kameo / PD0 / PGR3.
And as for Revolution / PS3, it is goin\' to come down to launch games. There is no way I can afford both (and no one is taking pre-orders yet, WTF?). Whoever has the most appealing launch games will get my hard earned cash.

thats exactly what i was thinking yesterday when i was looking at them. Id really think about that package with Madden, ghost recon, and FNR3 or Burnout. I think theyd get a lot more sales if you could pick the games. Maybe theyd let you do that if they ever get any in-store..
Or theyre just trying to sell their crappy games noone would buy. But id still think theyd get more money if people buy more popular games with the bundle.
-
They would. I mean, I want an Xbox 360 and if I could just either pick up the system or pick up a certain "three game" package, then I would do that without any problem. The thing is, I am paying almost $200 dollars for three games I have zero interest in. I suppose I could get the Core system, memory card and my three games , but I want the HD, I want the Xbox Live Silver and I want the HD cable.
It should also be noted that memory cards are on friggin\' back-order on most online stores.
Insane, I tell you. Not to mention, I put together a "Core" system, with the proper cables / Two Games / Memory Card and it was only around $100 bucks cheaper. The pricing on this stuff is outrageous no matter how you look at it.
-
The pricing on this stuff is outrageous no matter how you look at it.
Easily my biggest gripe. 59.99 games hurts no matter how you try to justify it.
-
Yeah. I haven\'t purchased a game since launch for that reason.
Totally ready with Best Buy coupons though. (Last time through they didn\'t have stock of FNR3...)

Picked up FNR3 on Saturday and wasted my weekend away with it.
Been a while since I had such a straight gaming session. Very addictive.
As the fighters wear out, the matches slow down, and maybe that\'s why it feels different than Round 2? I didn\'t play much of Round 2, but I think it was a little less realistic in that regard.
The one thing about the graphics, they\'re hot but the effect of the skin and face moving and blood flying on the KO punch is over done. They use the same effect for every knock down and it kind of kills the impact of it. They should have included more animations facially and for the body KOs. The falling animations are still hilarious, though. I knocked a guy out by the ropes once and he landed on his back with his legs in the air, heh.

fnr3 is just like the ps2 version with prettier graphics....you can\'t even pummel your opponent when he\'s on his way down..you only get one punch in and that\'s it...and the EA cutman scene?.....play fnr2...and you will see a BIG difference here...i can appreciate EA tryin to make it more realistic in the sense that your boxer throws more slower realistic punches...as in r2 the haymakers looked really mechanical,.....but that\'s about it...i was considering gettin\' this for ps3,...but now i\'m gonna pass on this one...and madden?..that s**t is the same thing as well but with prettier graphics....i hate that they are the only one\'s with that nfl license.....
could you imagine sega makin\' their 2k football games on the next gen systems?......that would be football gaming perfection.....:fro:
-
It\'s fucking EA.
Saying, "it\'s just this with prettier graphics" has to be the most redundant and idiotic thing I\'ve heard here so far.
-
I must be playing a different game.

well wtf you want me to say? that they made vast improvements and the games (madden & fnr3) are better?...they\'re not it\'s s**t... fnr2 is the only decent boxing game out there..and madden....that s**t hasn\'t changed since 03 and it\'s because of sheep like yourself that it continues to thrive....
-
ahahahahahaha sheep?
My point was they always release rehashes with updated graphics. Pointing that out like it\'s some new thing is just trite. I don\'t buy sports games annually but there is very little you can add to a sports game. What the fuck did you expect? A jump rope minigame during halftime or in between each round?
-

apparently sega added a true halftime game show in their last 2k football game..they have constantly pushed the envelope with they\'re football games(presentation wise and gameplay wise) while madden does nothing but update rosters...go play madden 05...then go play espn 2k5....you will see the difference....hit me back when you have a clue....
-
Better interface, more animations and a more engaging career mode would have been nice.
They took a baby step forward. And I suppose since its EA, that\'s redundant and idiotic of me to say.
And clips, I did notice the between-round minigame got way easier. Last year\'s was more engaging without being too difficult. They could\'ve had a corner guy wipe the blood off your face with a towel and give you some water, too.
There\'s a lot of little stuff they could do. After three iterations, they\'re still just messing with the basics and getting by with prettier graphics.
That given, it\'s still a really fun series, in my opinion.

I hear the DS has two screens.

I got one... its cool, a bit underwhelming in the games department .Not much different then the PS2 launch IMHO.
Gameplay has yet to feel next gen on the Xbox 360 but that\'s about to change today with the hugely anticipated Elder Scrolls RPG
I own/played Call of Duty 2, PGR3, Burnout Revenge, and today I will pick up Elder Scrolls
username= Funken A
I don\'t have ghost recon, nor have I a gold live membership. So far I find XBox\'s live setup for 360 to be not worth the cash or aggravation, but that could change if I had a reaosn to hook up with people I would WANT to play games with. Most Xbox online users really live up to their X-snot attitudes IMO
-
Yes, I have had one since launch. The console is totally worth it due to G.R.A.W., Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Burnout Revenge ( which is a *blast* over Live ) and Dead or Alive 4.
Unfortunately I do not have a HDTV, so I am forced to play from my TFT Samsung Monitor - which, however, is a pretty good substitute.
Thanks to the fact that I got a nice-paying summer-job, I might save up and buy a HDTV come next fall. :)
My gamer-tag, by the way, is Artieficial.
-
seems kind of last-gen for me in the game department, the only features that really interest me are XBLA and a few of the games, but those are really just the same games I have played in new packages. So it is a bit underwhelming.
At least the games look pretty fun. I haven\'t played Oblivion yet, but have always detested the FP viewpoint unless it is indeed a shooter.

That\'s what I\'m doing, saving up this summer for a nice HDTV. But I\'m gonna get a CRT TV while they\'re still out.
