NOOOO!!!! haha..dont buy it for PC..buy it for Xbox..

UBI has destroyed the rainbow six series. If you like lockdown, then youll probably like it..but..god damn. When i remember urban operations and raven shield, i get optimistic about the series. But after lockdown turned into counter strike \'appeal to the mass console biatches\' im boycotting that damn company.

I know theyre making ghost recon but..some new guy is making it for PC and the guy is awesome. Listens to the community, and isnt part of the group that takes console versions (xbox to be specific) and ports them directly to PC. Granted, now that the 360 is out, the console porting to PC isnt THAT bad, but you can still do a lot more with the PC but theyre too lazy and know theyll make their money with the console group.

anyway..RIP rainbow six

I\'ve been waiting for another great Lucasarts adventure game.

Grim Fandango is still probably my favorite game of all time.

Well, that and Warcraft 3.

It\'s a tight race.
Title: PC Gaming alive & well
Post by: Phil on April 05, 2006, 04:04:48 PM
I\'ll take starcraft over warcraft 3 anyday.

But yes, give me a new grim fandango/full throttle/monkey island game and I\'ll be happy.
Title: PC Gaming alive & well
Post by: videoholic on April 05, 2006, 04:55:51 PM
Grim Fandango rocked.  I also liked full throttle, but didn\'t finish it.

I didn\'t like the last monkey island.  It was kind of boring. I liked the others though.

And starcraft freaking rocked.  I wish they\'d make another game just like that, only better.  I like quick half hour build em up and pound the shit out of each other.

Never even played Starcraft....

I know.

What the hell is my story eh?

Quake Wars: Enemy Territory made me upgrade my computer.

SLI completely dominates at higher resolutions
completely
Title: PC Gaming alive & well
Post by: Soul Reaver on April 06, 2006, 12:48:47 PM
Yes it does.

But I run my games at 1280x1024 so that\'s that. I do plan on getting a 29 inch monitor sometime next year though.

Still, NV cards won\'t do sm3 HDR + AA at the same time. A patch for Ati\'s HDR+AA in ES:Oblivion is expected to appear soon. (edit ; it\'s available now : ( http://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&questionID=21960 )

games I look forward to :

Alan Wake (Remedy)
Splinter Cell 4 Double Agent (Ubisoft)
2DaystoVegas (SteelMonkeys)

gee and not that long ago i remember u saying and i quote.

Quote

like i said, one card solution beats SLI

personally, im waiting for the 8xxx generation, DX10 is right around the corner
Title: PC Gaming alive & well
Post by: Knotter8 on April 11, 2006, 12:30:24 AM
I think his first comment meant that a single card solution beats SLi when it comes to bang for buck.

Purely performance wise, SLi might indeed dominate atm (compared to Xfire).

Title: PC Gaming alive & well

Post by: Viper_Fujax on April 11, 2006, 09:02:14 PM
iv found mine useless. Everyone iv asked have said its not worth getting a second 6600GT..i got the 6600 so i could afford 2, but im a cheap bitch so i never bought the second one and never will use my SLI unless i hit the lottery and can get 2 top of the line/ second-most top of the line cards at the same time.

Not to get off your subject here, but I agree that pc gamming is alive and well. I just upgraded and there are like 20 games I am planing on getting in the next few months. However here latley I have been enjoying some classic pc games as well.

Hey Brian! What did you upgrade to?
Title: PC Gaming alive & well
Post by: Knotter8 on July 22, 2006, 03:39:18 AM
^ It would be sour if a large percentage of those games is Vista-only
Title: PC Gaming alive & well
Post by: Viper_Fujax on July 22, 2006, 11:22:00 AM
speaking of..anyone know if crysis will need Vista? or can it play on direct-x 9.0c with windows xp? and will it look bad on xp? seems like graphics is the main thing going for crysis, and itd be pointless if itll look bad on xp.
Title: PC Gaming alive & well
Post by: mm on July 22, 2006, 11:59:23 AM
how is xp going to make it look bad?
Title: PC Gaming alive & well
Post by: Viper_Fujax on July 22, 2006, 12:39:39 PM
because i dont think it can use direct-x 10, which crysis is being made for
Title: PC Gaming alive & well
Post by: Knotter8 on July 23, 2006, 03:41:03 AM
Crysis will probably be playable on Windows Vista with a DX9.0c compliant videocard ; of course, the DX10 specific graphical feats won\'t be present.

I guess it\'ll be kind of like playing HL2 with a DX8 card.

So, i expect ; speedy dual core cpu + Vista + DX10 videocard + 1 - 2 Gb ram.

I wonder what Ati\'s unified shader architecture will do for DX10....

Hey Brian! What did you upgrade to?

I got a 256 g-force graphics card, I maxed out my ram and got a second 80 gig hard drive. After all of that the game I am currently playing is an old game Claw.
Title: PC Gaming alive & well
Post by: JBean on July 26, 2006, 10:32:05 AM
nearly all nvidia cards are g-force cards with 256mb of ram.

what did you get?  6800, 7800 7900?
Title: PC Gaming alive & well
Post by: Knotter8 on July 27, 2006, 11:38:32 PM
I think he means the original "Geforce256"

Looking forward to the new Total War game. I was looking forward to Europa Universalis 3, but the dev had to go and ruin the game by making it 3D (fucking ugly 3D I might add), so no EU3 for me.

Also Silent Hunter IV is to be shown very soon, cant wait for that.

So yes, PC gaming is a live and well. :)
