After projecting a 14% loss for the year, Nintendo’s earnings are likely to end up in the black by 8.7%, according to the company’s latest estimate. Though the final results of fiscal year 2005 won’t be released until May 25th, Nintendo looks to have made a profit of between 75 and 95 billion yen, or just over $800 million US. Part of this increase is due to the yen’s poor performance against foreign currency. Nintendo originally expected to be trading at 110 to the dollar and not 117, which is the current value. However, the DS’s strong sales also had an impact, especially in Japan, where it sold over 6 million units before the end of February. Some DS Lite sales have yet to be tallied, but fiscal year 2005 ended in March, so only the first few weeks of the handheld’s Japanese sales will be included in the numbers.

Games like Brain Age did the trick.

more likely due to the poor yen, they have their holdings in Dollars, I believe, then again, the DS and the DS Lite have been performing phenomenally, as well as Nintendogs, reported at 6 million worldwide!

Let\'s hope they continue having success and funnel that money into more Revolution goodness and convincing third parties to make games on teh Rev.
