Well, today, with AT&T still threatening extortion charges against large internet companies (google, ebay, amazon, etc.) for bandwidth those companies responded.
Suck my **** (http://www.networkingpipeline.com/blog/archives/2006/04/google_ebay_and.html) would be the best paraphrase I can come up with.
-
haha, hell yeah!
Maybe Google isn\'t all flowery as it seems to be, but at the very least it\'s still the lesser of two evils.
I hope AT&T is now sh1tting themselves for threatening those companies in the first place.
-
I can only imagine they will try and back off their move, try to buy the new blocks of band that are coming up, and then slowly re-introduce the idea once their monopoly is secure again.
-
They have the money to do it, so I say go for it. Google Cable...sounds odd. =P

I love Google so I\'d pay for it :)

I believe it would be google wireless broadband. Or something catchy like google-wave or something.

google is evil
need proof?
check the ads next to your gmail then check the content of your email
notice any similarities?

I find that pretty funny :p But its all electronic. They aren\'t reading my email. And if they are, I don\'t care. its not like I have anything to hide and I\'m not talking about my sexlife through email.

But its all electronic.
Pretty much. My browser blocks those ads, though.

Well doh, that\'s how they make money. It\'s not like any humans actually read your mail. And if you want to argue that they could, well, so could any other email company.

they have trained chimps to read your mail then feed the information to the government

Like the telecom industry, the US government intelligence agencies have done their best to get into bed with Google. I would say that Google has been moderatly successfull at resisting this, but compared to the telecoms, they\'re much better. It\'s AT&T that allows the NSA supercomputer farms to listen into every phonecall made, trace your location through cellphone use and GPS chips. At least google is still fighting (and losing) it\'s right not to disclose search/email data.

We\'re doomed. (http://www.tpmcafe.com/node/29086)
If google or some other independant billion dollar company doesn\'t step up, the internet as we know it changes in a few months.

I think it is a great idea, I hope AT&T end up owning it all, baby.
