Title: does race matter?..
Post by: clips on April 26, 2006, 09:32:00 PM
according to this study it does...i think it does matter to a certain degree...i believe one can achieve a certain amount of wealth if they really work hard...as usual minorities have to work twice as hard to achieve it, but overall i feel it\'s becoming incredibly hard for anyone to achieve wealth in the top 5 for the average joe,...whether you are black or white...

In this day and age, race matters. But race shouldn\'t matter. We\'re all flesh and bone.

clips, you\'re my boy and all but I wouldn\'t take this article and automatically point everything at racial differences.

The "born poor, die poor" philiosophy has been around FOREVER.  Remember reading about the serfs in grade school?  It\'s just the logic of it all.  Many people are a product of their environment, and if you grow up rich, educated, and affluent there are easier avenues for you to take to become successful.

That\'s just the way it is, and we\'d still be living like that whether America was 100% white, black, asian, hispanic or whatever.

i agree with you 100%...and i wasn\'t agreeing with the article,..i was just sayin\' according to this article it does(as in according to the opinion of this article it does)...it\'s tru what you say... you have to play the cards you\'re dealt.*whether you are rich or poor*...and try to advance and achieve wealth to the best of your ability or at least to achieve a comfortable and peace of mind lifestyle...

I think money divides this country more than race does. Think about it, who would have more in common? A rich black man would have more in common with a rich white man than a poor white man and a rich white man.
