I kinda miss the \'boomerang\', but the PS3 looks sweet, will fit right into my AV cabinet, and the controller is all good (since I love the DS2).

The PS3 is a little bigger now in dimensions.

Looks good though.  If the extra room means less heat and noise, it\'s all good.

Regarding the controller, at least it\'s not a boomerang. And the tilt sensitivity is a nice step forward. Looks like Nintendo is already setting the next standard with Wii.

I don\'t mind the retread controller due to the extra features they crammed in it.  Losing rumble feedback is a bummer. But that was the case with Wavebird and possibly Wii, so maybe it\'s par for the course anymore.

Too bad.

Nice looking system. I don\'t mind the vents, either. Better that than having kids burn them up on their carpets. Damn kids. ;]

i always hated the "rumble" feature.
it was only ever used properly in MGS.

You\'re just saying that. I think you liked it and wish it was still there.

Zing!

Bout time someone had a point about innovation. All I\'ve read elsewhere is that Sony did motion-sensing first because of the EyeToy. My brains leaked out of my ears a little when I read that, heh.

Nintendo borrows most of its ideas or inspirations from somewhere. It\'s just usually not so blatant and unoriginal as when Sony does it.

grrrr, all companies borrow and steal ideas from each other, since the dawn of business.

why is it even being discussed?
"sony stole ideas from nintendo! no, microsoft stole ideas from sega!  blah, blah, blah"

changing the design of the orginal PS controller would be like making a TV remote square shaped

is the PS logo on the middle of the controller an extra button?  on/off for the console maybe?

Would be a good idea to have the on/off button on the controller as well. Saves the trouble for a lazy ass like me from getting up :)

They have no innovation policies. Atleast Nintendo makes an effort now and again.

well i was kinda lookin\' foward to that boomerang design. it still looked liked it would still be comfortable. but eh whatever...i\'m happy with the old style...and i\'d rather have a controller that feels right in my hands than one that looks stylish but has a horrible feel to it...and i thought the reason why this thing doesn\'t have rumble support is because sony lost a lawsuit pertaining to the rumble feature. i think microsoft payed the company that utilizes the rumble feature, while sony chose to fight them on the issue and lost...stupid sony..they should\'ve just payed them....at least that\'s what i recall...

hehe thats what probably happened and I am sure. So they decided to replace the vibration with the tilt.
Funny that its still called Dual SHOCK

Rumble shmumble. I personally don\'t care. It came to a point where I didn\'t even notice the rumble feature in the controller. The tilt will be kinda cool. Nintendo I think is gonna win in that area. Theres much more you can do with their controller, I assume. This just seems to be a gimmick on Sony\'s controller. Rumble was cool but its time to try something new.
