Post by: Riku on May 09, 2006, 11:17:42 AM
Supposedly Halo 3, Forza 2, Fable 2, Shadowrun, Alan Wake, and many more videos are on XBL Marketplace right now.

Fable 2 teaser (http://www.fable2.com)
Shadowrun (http://www.shadowrun.com)
Halo 3: Screenshots, trailer, info (http://www.bungie.net/News/TopStory.aspx?link=Halo3Announcement)

-Forza 2 announced for the fall
-HD-DVD add-on will be ready for this fall (about 1/3 the size of the 360)
-On October 16th 2007 Grand Theft Auto 4 will be available on Xbox 360. There was no mention of an exclusive to 360.
-Alan Wake is shown through an impressive trailer.
-Gates announces a new platform called Live Anywhere that will roll out when Vista ships. It will be a big part of Vista. It will have cross-platform capability. Mobile phones, Xbox 360, and PC will share tools.

A demo of this new platform is given. Whenever you log onto a system you\'ll log onto Xbox Live. An interface is shown on a PC that uses the same "blade" system as Xbox Live. No matter which platform you are on you\'ll sign in with the same gamertag with the same friends list.

Marketplace will be available on all systems. Now you can download content like Zuma onto your mobile phone. As an example Major Nelson mails a custom car from his phone to a PC. Then begins to customize it on the PC and throws it into the game.

more later...

Nah I\'m kidding. Actually that\'s a great idea. Finally a reason to fire up my 360 other than to watch ECW DVDs.

- Lumines on Xbox Live Arcade

- Fable 2 Announced with Trailer

- Halo 3 trailer up on Xbox Live

- Splinter Cell: Double Agent out in September

- Alan Wake trailer shown. Out for Vista and 360. (May be exclusive now, not clear yet.)

- Bill Gates is talking right now. Bastard won\'t shut up.

- Live will work with Cell Phones and Computers. Vague details blah blah blah still won\'t shut up.

- HD-DVD peripheral shown. (Meh) Blu-ray > HD-DVD. At least it looks neat.

It ends with this.

Quote
12:55: Moore gets on stage and gives recap. Says games will all be playble, then Gates says "Hey Peter, let\'s play these people a snippet of a game they might like to see..." Crowd goes wild, trailer comes up. Halo theme plays, scen of a wartorn wasteland. Long figure can be seen therogh the smoke. Cortana alerts screen. MASTER CHIEF WALKS OUT.

12:59: HOLY CRAP, GIGANTIC Covenat dropship... dozens of them. Sky swarming with banshes over gian crater is actually a giant forerunner gateway--the gateway lights up, screen goes white, HALO 3 LOGO APPEARS.

1:00: Crowd goes ballistic. Lights come up and the conference is over.

I wonder when Grand Theft Auto: PS3 Version Not Called 4 will be released? Actually, it\'ll probably be an upgraded Liberty City Stories, which by and large, no one played in the first place.

Pretty cool announcement regarding Lumines. That might make that developer some quick cash.

The other games mentioned don\'t do much for me. GTA4 is enticing, but GTA:LCS didn\'t keep my attention for longer than 15 minutes (curse of the portable system?) so I wonder if that series still has legs for me... (Picturing it in my head, though, I\'m leaning toward yes.)

GTA4 exclusive 360 title ,  huh.  Good thing I\'m not a fan of GTA.  But I would have liked to have seen what Rockstar could have done with blu-ray

Funny how people rip Sony for stealing controller ideas but praise Microsoft for buying out titles

Ripping off a consoles notable features versus a company paying for exclusivity. The blow isn\'t as hard because GTA wasn\'t really much of an exclusive game in the first place.

You forgot to mention the exclusivity is for the best selling game for the PS2

Only hardcore care about who stole what controller design.  EVERYONE is going to care that MS bought GTA

How exclusive is it? Whole franchise? Just this specific title? Or a time lapse. Resident Evil was exclusive to GCN for a while, too.

For comparison, major success = GTA:SA (7 mil) Halo 2 (9 mil)

F*** microsoft. I hate the 360 and have no intentions of buying it. However, the Wii and PS3 have my intention.

There is no mention of GTA being exclusive and I wouldn\'t count on it being exclusive to 360. They have a huge fanbase with Sony and people like me who will only buy one or two consoles will not be very happy.

E3 06: Grand Theft Auto IV coming to 360, PS3 in 2007
[UPDATE] Microsoft confirms next Grand Theft Auto is coming to Xbox 360 in October 2007; Rockstar Games confirms simultaneous launch on PS3.
By Tim Surette, GameSpot
Posted May 9, 2006 8:37 pm GMT

LOS ANGELES--In one of the most shocking announcements at E3, Microsoft revealed that it quite literally stole away some of Sony\'s audience. One of the PlayStation\'s most notoriously popular franchises, the Grand Theft Auto series, is confirmed to be coming to the Xbox 360. Previous editions of GTA were released exclusively on the PlayStation 2 in October, and were later ported to the Xbox. Now we know that Grand Theft Auto 4 will be hitting the Xbox 360 on "day one", alongside the PlayStation 3 version of the game.

At today\'s Microsoft pre-E3 conference, Peter Moore pulled back his right shirt sleeve and revealed the familiar Halo 2 logo. Duping the audience into thinking that a new Halo was about to be announced, the Englishman then pulled back his left shirt sleeve, which revealed a tattoo that showed a Grand Theft Auto IV logo.

Grand Theft Auto IV will be available on October 16, 2007, in North America, and October 19 in Europe.

Moore did announce that Microsoft and Rockstar have signed an exclusive agreement to provide episodic content via Xbox Live, though he did not specifically limit the content to GTAIV.

Following the announcement during the Microsoft press conference, Rockstar Games issued a press release confirming that GTAIV would be hitting both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 simultaneously in the fall of 2007. The brief announcement specifically confirms that Scotland-based Rockstar North, creators of the previous GTA titles, will be developing the game.

please note, people Rockstar is a company not a NGO so they want all your money regardless of your system.

So GTA is not exclusive at all.  At this stage, publisher allegiances are exactly what they were last gen among the three systems.

Obviously, the difference is that, while PS3 and X360 developers set back the clock and rehash old ideas with fancy graphics, Nintendo and its developers are creating new experiences.

Me..

I loved Fable - was it limited? Yes! Did I still enjoy it? Yes!

Will I buy it? No. Why? Because I don\'t own an Xbox 360.

Fable was over hyped though, no doubt about it. Here is hoping that P.M doesn\'t hype this one up so much. Let the game speak for itself, don\'t make false claims.

What kind of logic is that? It\'s a sequel, it won\'t be limited to the people who bought the previous game.

It\'s my opinion that because Fable sucked, the people who bought it before should be less inclined to buy it again. It\'s sound logic.

And you\'re right that sales of Fable 2 will not be limited to those who bought it previously. Nice of you to add that, but don\'t confuse that with the point I was trying to make. Logically.

fanboy of who, exactly?

pride myself in playing kindergarden cop arguing with people like you?
in case you haven\'t noticed, you have zero chance of pushing me.
i\'m at work right now actually, but i\'m sad to see they let people who work on the geek squad surf the web instead of fixing pc\'s.

i\'m sorry if Fabled was your favorite game, but it tanked.
the number\'s are on my side.

not my favorite game at all, in fact i didn\'t even buy the damned thing

but seeing that it sold over 2 million and then saying it tanked is one of the most moronic things in the fucking forum

Playing kindergarten cop? Are you retarded? No one breaks the rules in this place. It\'s a fucking esoteric forum if anything. You\'re as useless as they come.

Geek squad? Nice one, I know you think you\'re cool because you try this whole "cynic" approach but you\'re not. You are a glorified troll at best. One with nearly six times the amount of posts I have actually.

heh

So Microsoft,  like Sony,  announced titles that we knew would make an appearance on their console.

That wraps it up

"set up" some servers?
apparently, you have no idea what you\'re talking about.

i\'m shocked they\'re even making a sequal to fable
guess that\'s what happens when you\'re desperate for franchises

Actually, Clowd won that award, but .......

Still, I\'m not sure what it matters how many Fable sold. Those who enjoyed it, will pick it up and those who didn\'t want. Maybe I enjoyed it, because I didn\'t follow all the hype, but for me, I thought it was a solid linear RPG.

;)

I don\'t know what I\'m talking about. Ok man.

What I just did, did not happen. Those towers I am looking at. It\'s all a dream.

it only matters cause soul reaver claimed it sold 3 million and that\'s tits
...when it only sold 2 million including PC sales and the rehashed version

i wonder what fable\'s budget was?

and  at \'towers\'

I did not claim that. Someone else said it in this thread and I went on with that. Surpassing 2 million is cllose enough.

You\'re laughing at towers. You\'re really clueless you know that right?

Think what you like, I guess I am getting paid magic money for my non existent work.

The fact that you question my job makes me wonder if you actually know anything about what I\'m talking about. Do you read stuff up on the internet and pretend that you know all about it?

Definitely seems so. Don\'t even bother answering.
