It looked pretty cool. The thing which needs tweaking is Link\'s footing. He still \'glides\' the floor alot with his feet. It\'s evident Nintendo\'s more used to animatie cartoony characters with non realistic human proportions.

I think the Nintendo Wii is actually a top secret project designed to reduce the obesity epidemic in today\'s youth. ;)

"it feels like you\'re actually aiming the bow"

fucking lame

It\'s f00king hard to aim a bow...especially holding the string in place. I don\'t see how holding a controller would emulate that. Morons. Exaggeration there to the max.

I may end up getting one for my son though.  I\'m not going to have time for games for a while so I may as well wait for a price drop from Sony.  Logan would have fun with the wand.

People who play games are pretty lazy. I know am. I hardly want to push the buttons on my controllers never mind swinging my arms around.

I disagree.  I think a lot of people will dig it, I know that my fiance likes the idea of it, which is exactly what Nintendo is banking on - getting the NON-GAMER into games.

I Certainly think it looks cool for little kids.  That\'s what nintendo has always marketed to anyway.

Well, in that case, yea, I\'m lazy. I\'ll probably play Zelda with the Cube controller and save the less active games for the Wii controller..Ya know, like Tetris..

Its also hard to aim and shoot at a target the size of a human 15 meters away from you and actually hit it with a 45\'\' pistol(Around 350 people tried it when I was in the army. More than half hit less than 3 out of 5 shots )

But it sure was easy in RS ;)

Game looks cool.  I don\'t see how you could possibly play for more than 15 minutes at a time though.  Just hold one arm (or both) out at shoulder level for a few minutes with nothing in them and your arm will start to feel it.  I wonder how long it\'s going to take for people to develop a \'wii hunch\' whereby they play while leaning their hand on their knee but can still aim.

Why stand? It\'d be like using your tv remote for fifteen minutes, I guess.

It\'s all about the wrists. You don\'t have to stretch your arm out all the way.

Uhm..
If you say so.

I disagree, gaming was exciting back in the SNES days, gaming was exciting when 3D was just breaking through (HELLLLLLLLLLLLO Mario 64!).. Gaming now is just boring.

It was exciting back then wasnt exciting enough with the introduction of 128 bit consoles.

But for me(atleast) its exciting again with the introduction of Wii and PS3.

The Dreamcast was exciting, the other three wasn\'t.

R.I.P Dreamcast, you was the best...and the last

No excitement for the PS3.

Mild excitement for the Wii due to the controller and the downloadable retro games.

Of forgot DC. Died too fast though. Well when it was launched it was pretty exciting. I remember going with a friend to kiosks reading game magazines and watching gaming sites while salivating over games like Sonic Adventure, Shenmue, Soul Calibur etc. And damn! Sonic Adventure was one hell of a game then. Cant forget when I got my hands on it for the first time
Started to pale though when the others came to the scene. But its true the excitement wasnt all that huge with PS2, XBOX and GC, although I must admit that I wasnt dissappointed or not highly impressed with some of their titles. But the excitement sure was bigger with the DC.

But now I am as excited as back then if not more. I am with Evi on this one. You are way too negative and I think you are a little biased too and its not letting you have fun with anything. You have too much anger collected from the past against Sony since the days of the Saturn I am sure.

You are the opposite of mm. mm trashes everything not Sony, you trash everything Sony and the gaming of today because you feel that Sony made the market that it is today. So you hate that market

Sonic Adventure is the only game that made me think, "this is the next generation".

*sigh*

9/9/99...

What a great day, with such a depressing future.

Well I ve read that Sega tried to fix the problems the previous games had and tried to put mor emphasis on speed and different routes (like the 2D games ). some early impressions seemed positive too.

Also see it as a probability :D. The more times you throw the dice and get numbers that arent close to 6 the more chances there are you will get a 6 the next time you throw it

And I read that they tried to improve each Tomb Raider game. All that media hype means nothing. I\'ll wait and see, until then, I\'ll assume that it sucks like the other sequels did.

Seriously, if he finds gaming in general so boring nowadays, why keep doing it ?

I gave him a reasonable alternative. Saying \'Go away Knotter\'. Now THAT is idiotic behavior. Or how about \'I\'ll always live on in the childrens eyes\'. What are you smoking man to think you\'re his guardian angel. Go sit in the corner and cry about it jumpman.

Post by: Jumpman on May 11, 2006, 08:19:09 AM
Don\'t say you gave him a reasonable alternative...you were being a smart ass and it was completely unnecessary. Me telling you to go away on the other hand was absolutely necessary since you are hindering the progression of this thread into something totally different.

And the children thing was a joke, sorry you apparently cried over it due to your inability to laugh.

The discussion went on about new Sonic games.

To the hypothetical question wether it will be good I see certain ppl keep on saying \'no it won\'t\'.

They are repeating themselves like a tape on repeat. Now THAT is hindering progress of the discussion. Bluntly saying \'it won\'t\' is a non argument. ha ha

At least we can agree on that, buddy.

And Knotter, I haven\'t found a new hobby, because I don\'t want to. I\'ve done this since I was little, I like to think that eventually games will get back to a place where I enjoy them once again.

Well, times changes, gaming changes and people change.

Personally, I\'m looking forward to some things which have been
presented at this E3. I\'m just saying ; do not dismiss new games
just becuz one has such rosy coloured memories about one
particular gaming era.

It\'s still a very young phenomenon, videogames.
Title: E3 - Zelda: The Twilight Princess [Wii]
Post by: Jumpman on May 11, 2006, 10:18:44 AM
Honestly I found that last generation was indeed the most boring simply because like I\'ve said on previous occasions if offered nothing new from the previous one except prettier graphics and rehashed ideas. I want the Wii simply because I know that by changing the controller you are changing the way games are played dramatically.

And on a completely unrelated note, I freakin loved my N64 more than anything in its prime. Golden, mario 64, both Zeldas, Perfect Dark, Blast Corps, Banjo-Kazooie, Conker, Pilotwings, Mario Kart, Mario Golf/Tennis, etc. All first or second party games but all awesome. I had a DC but beyond Grandia 2, Skies, Shenmue, and...couple of sports games I didn\'t think it was "the best system ever".

I miss the Dreamcast. I wish it didn\'t die. :( SEGA not in the console business just feels weird.
