Shigeru Miyamoto sat down in front of a small gathering of journalists in a theater at E3 Wednesday evening to unveil a secret Wii title: Super Smash Brothers Brawl.
The game will feature a lot of favorites as well as tons of new comers including, get this, Snake. Yes, the Snake of Metal Gear Solid fame.
Other newcomers include:
Nintendogs, Metaknight, Pit, Zero Suit Samus and Wario.
More details to come.
We\'ve got Snakes in a mother fucking game.

Snake? WTF?
-
lol that should be funny
-
I like the idea of parodying Snake in the game, but I\'m also disgusted, he doesn\'t fit in the game at all.
Still, bring it on. I love Super Smash Bro\'s!
Worst part?
Nintendo put together a team to assist Sakurai. The result is Super Smash Bros. Brawl, one of the first Wii titles to avoid motion-controlled attacks.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl will be fully compatible with the GameCube controller. Sakurai\'s reasoning is simple. He doesn\'t want to alienate gamers that prefer the traditional gamepad.
Come on. The whole point of Wii is motion controlled attacks, avoiding that is a disgrace.
-
^^
How would that work with the Wii controller? People would be jumping all over the living room smacking each other in the face? And there is an alternative controller that is just like a normal controller. Why is this a surprise?

They will be alienating the SSB fanbase if they disallowed classic controls. It\'s still compatible with the remote so there\'s no worries.
-
Fuck "aliening the SSB fanbase", if this controller is the revolution, then prove it can stand up to any title and make the users use it. Be behind it a hundred percent.
-
Uh Zero Suit Samus is surprisingly hot.
And its SNNNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!!!!!!
He\'s so completely out of place that he fits in perfectly. Visuals look pretty good too.
And damn you have to get like 4 classic pads for this game. But its worth it baby.
-
lol at compatible with the gamecube controller
even the devs realize how hokey the wii remote is

Little emo fucks sell apparently.
-
I was thinking it would be nice to have Cloud but there\'s no way they could implement him in in time of release. Apparently they were ahead of me.
-
That\'s pretty freaking cool, actually.
-
It\'s a fake.
-
Is it? If it is, that blows.
-
I am going to buy Wii just for Brawl ( and Metroid Prime 3 ). I still play Melee with friends, and the game hasn\'t lost its flavour one bit. Given the fact that it was a launch-game for Cube... Well, you have to admit that it is pretty spectacular, right? :)

If the WII controller is so hokey then why did Sony rip it off.
-
you come from the IGN forums?
i can tell.
it\'s ok, we forgive you

Hey, you wanted first party games to use a standard controller, well here you go.
Brian, perhaps to mm\'s point of view, the added feature to the PS3 controller is hokey as well.
Regardless of your viewpoint, it\'s certainly limited in scope and usefulness.

-
waving a controller in the air like a fool is far from usefull, to me.
\'tilt\' function of PS3 controller = hokey, i didn\'t think i had to actually say it.
standard wireless controllers were revolutionary enough.
-
PS3 has the TILT becuz they lost the RUMBLE from that old ongoing lawsuit.
\'Interference\' of rumble tech + tilt tech is NOT the reason of the omition.
-
there was an easy workaround for the "rumble" technology patent, very easy.
but to put "rumble" and "tilt" in one controller would increase the size/mass of it.
large controller = failure in japan

Um nope wrong there dude. Im just a casual gamer that sees right through Sonys crap.
-
Already been posted man, get a new joke.
-
lol, nice troll attempt.
really, you\'re outclassed before you ever registered here.
although if you want to play, i\'m always game.
-
If the WII controller is so hokey then why did Sony rip it off.
Since you are a casual gamer I dont think you would have a problem with that...right?
-
mm, Nintendo\'s controller tilts and does way more, plus rumble, plus an included speaker without being bulky. I was reading about the motion-sensing technology on PlanetGamecube this morning, and at least the core of it is a handful of millimeters in size.
Sony lost the rumble feature because of the lawsuit, because it\'s lazy and because it wanted to me-too Nintendo\'s controller in some fashion.
-Dan
-
the speaker is yet another hokey addition.
expect little to no 3rd party support.
sony could have had the "rumble" feature if they wanted.
most modern patents are easily circumvented, or simply license the technology.
-
True, they were lazy.
Personally, I love the speaker idea, and it\'s so easy that any third party could map sounds to it.
Your gun could fire in your hand, the tennis ball hits the racket there. It\'s a cheap way to bring everyone some of the fun surround-sound feel.
Way better an idea than trying to force developers to use microphone support. Oftentimes, that is hokey.

like seaman?
yeah, that was hokey (yet, oddly entertaining)
