I have a self cleaning shaver.
How in the fuck does it know how dirty it is?
-
Ai
-
Clean\'s itself every day?
On a side note, is "Clean\'s" even the plural of "Clean"?
-
Clean is a verb. There is no plural. And even if there was, it wouldn\'t have an apostrophe in it.
Ya rly. ;]

if it\'s one of those shavers that has some type of device you put it in after use, then i\'ve seen that before,..there some type of cleaning solution in the device that automatically cleans it....but that would be too obvious and if that is the case Vid,..i would have to quote you in sayin\' "we have to give YOU an IQ test"...;)
-
Clean isn\'t only a verb tho, its an adjective too, you describe something as clean (adjective) so how do u describe how you did something (verb) to make it clean, maybe its an adverb! god knows, back to stuudying ugh
-
OK kids I guess I should have been more specific.
You put the shaver in and it analyzes the blades. It tells you whether it\'s clean, it needs a light cleaning, heavy cleaning, or intense cleaning.
Then obviously I know how it cleans it. It has a solution.
My question is.
How the fuck does it know how dirty it is?

Because its smart.

Sensors.
It just cleans it everytime. That light/heavy/etc. cleaning is bs most likely, its going to put the same amount of washing power into it no matter how dirty it is.
durka durka.

I think (e) is right.
Muhammed Jihad.
-
No he is not right. It takes much longer to clean it depending on how much stubble is in the shaver.

Why, do you sit there with a stopwatch? :p
-
It shines a light on the blade, the more lilght that is reflected back the cleaner it is. If hardly any is reflected or none at all then that\'s a very dirty razor.

Check your PM\'s jerk.
And I refuse to accept technology.
Your razor is the devil.
-
What kind of razor do you have?
You must\'ve spent way too much money on this thing.
-
I don\'t remember what kind it is and I\'m too lazy to walk to the bathroom.
Light? Hmmm.. I don\'t think so. I can\'t imagine enough light can shine through the screen to be able to do this and there is no light inside the razor itself.
No, I\'ve never timed it, but it\'s very obvious that an intense cleaning takes longer. It\'s pretty loud and if I make the mistake of hitting the clean button when I go to bed it\'s annoying because it runs the fluid, then sits in a bath for a few minutes, then it runs the blades to mix it up. It does it several times over at least 10 minutes.

Haha, true that. A razor that cleans itself either tells me the guy is really rich or is really lazy. I can clean my razor....well I use a straight razor so I clean it in like a milisecond by running it under water :)

I really hope you didn\'t pay nearly that much, but then again, if you have the money, why not?
-
well hell, i dunno. My chick got it for me.
heh. With my money.. ;)
-
I guess paying a 180 bucks once is better than buying a 10 dollar straight and buying blades. That adds up....but over years, hehe.
-
Yeah but you don\'t have to ponder such stupid questions.
:D
-
didn\'t you guys know that VID is tha big balla around these parts?...:fro:
-
I remember when that thing first came out it had the coolest commercial. Pretty neat how it works, if it really does. ;)
My 6+ year old Remmington Sport is loud, whiny, and it hurts, but I\'m amazed that I never have to grease or clean it and it still cuts alright.
-
I hate using electric razors on the neck area. It always hurts like a b^tch afterwards.
-
i\'m on 2nd outliner 2 trimmer. the first one i had lasted about 4 years, before it shocked the s**t out of me in the bathroom.....the wire was worn right around were you handle it, so some wires were exposed and it started poppin and smokin\'... had to throw that s**t away...i turned around and bought another tho,..even tho these clippers that i have will probably try and kill me again, i love how these clippers shape up my face...:fro:

Men\'s Health had a nice 7pg article on men\'s grooming products. For aftershave, they recommend aloe-rich formulas such as Gillette Fusion or Nivea sensitive balm. I got the Fusion and it\'s pretty nice.
Hop on the metrosexual bandwagon m8
-
I use that multi-care Gillette. Stuff smells like eucalyptus leaves or something.
-
OK, so no one knows how it works.
-
Shaving cream and straight razor. Can\'t beat that ;) I use the new Gillette Fusion Power. Works great :)
-
so what if it sends an electric pulse down the blade and it measures the impedence or something. Maby the more hair on the blade the more voltage drop it has?
-
Hair causing a voltage drop...
Thats the funniest thing I\'ve ever heard.

It would cause friction slowing the power of the blades and spins slower.
