Title: It\'s guitartime.... or the show you gear thread
Post by: nO-One on May 28, 2006, 06:12:32 PM
Got bored earlier today and decided to take some pics of my guitars today, and since I just got the Jackson earlier this month I kinda wanted to show it off :p

Anyways on to the stuff.

there are a few not pictured, Yamaha accoustic, Hagstrom classical, and a Washburn 5 string bass I borrowed

The ones pictured are from left to right: Yamaha Pacifica strat copy, ESP Eclipse II STBC and a Jackson RX10D Rhoads and the amp is a 60w VOX Valvetronix AV60VT

now I know there are a few guitar/bass/drum players around here so show it off.

nO-One, I like the flamey finish on that ESP Les Paul.  I wish ESP would go back to their 80\'s & 90\'s logo.  I don\'t understand why every one of their instruments now has that script typeface reading ESP or LTD instead of the old futuristic block letters.  There\'s probably a legal reason for it, but I never found out what it was.

I shot these images quickly, so the composition and lighting really sucks, but hopefully you can see the subject.

First is my 1989 Fender American Standard Stratocaster, and a newer Yahama bass.  Every guitar player should own a bass.  They are so much fun.

Next, the Taylor Corner:

A Baby Maple, and a 2000 714ce

Finally, a couple of old beaters.  This is my very first guitar, a Squier Bullet circa 1984.  This used to have a black finish, a fixed bridge, and an output jack where the second tone knob is now.  Back in the eighties, everyone had to have a floating bridge, and I was not immune to the fad.  Thus the ridiculous Kahler "Flyer" and locking nut.  What a piece of shit.  The Yamaha classical is not a POS.

Yeah I\'ve always preferred the old type, it\'s still on some of the LTD\'s I think, but the handwritten look isn\'t that bad.
The quilt doesn\'t really show in those photos but in the right lighting it looks stunning, very high quality. Here are a few I took last year, the sun brings it out a little more. But quilts and flame tops are a bitch to photograph.

I like those axes, that Taylor looks beautiful, also nice to see other people giving Yamaha a fair chance, surprisingly good instruments

How\'s that Kahler btw? never tried one only Floyds licensed and not and Ibanez edge\'s, I hear people either love them or hate them. I know ESP has started selling them on guitars like the new Jeff Hanneman sig, he swears by those bridges.

That\'s similar to the guitar I\'m getting, only red and a different model. It looks very similar though. Again, once I purchase it off my bro, I\'ll be posting pics.

Schecters are damned good guitars, you get an excellent guitar for next to nothing.

A wah pedal as a must have, I don\'t know I have one and don\'t use it that often.
