That\'s it? o.O

Compare. The Gamecube release list might be like 3 games, if that.
What\'s going on for PS2?
I\'m sure it\'s more than that, but how much? Maybe we\'re in a pre-holiday draught?
(And at $60 apiece, they can release a million games, I won\'t buy a single one!) ;]

60 buck games.....nah. Atleast with PS3, we\'ll be paying for blu-ray so its more understandable since its a more expensive disk but 60 bucks for an xbox360 game is rediculous. Its still on DVD. Ah well.
-
I don\'t care if they\'re on gold plates at this point. I won\'t be buying many PS3 games either, if I decide to pick that up even.
Nintendo knows me better. ;] They\'re promising so far to keep their games at $50. And even then, I\'ve been buying used and budget and DS lately. (DS games don\'t top $35.)
System launch is a different story, but once the dust settles, I go back to pinching pennies.
To think I used to save my allowance toward $70 SNES games!
Anyway, Donkey Kong Country > PS3.
-Dan
-
they making yet another DKC?
-
*sheesh* 360 still feels like an XBOX with upgraded graphics.
Anyway, Donkey Kong Country > PS3.
-Dan
You mean something like Banjo & Kazooie > PS3?
-
o0o an insult thread
-
You mean the part about Banjo and Kazooie? I was trying to point out that a new Donkey Kong doesnt quarantee it will be great enough to reach what DKC was on the SNES judging from Rare\'s most recent offerings.
Rare\'s platform games on the N64 werent even close although they were good.

I really think it will be the same with the PS3. The Wii seems to be the only console for a totally different experience.
Nonetheless, I don\'t think it really is such a bad thing. I like playing games with a regular controller and if I want to have something different, Nintendo can be the alternative.
oh and good 3D platformers are few and far in between
yes even I find Mario 64 to be complete shit compared to past iterations.

I agree.
But I have some hopes PS3 wont be the same judging from what I ve seen. I mean, the 360 games look totally like the XBOX games only with better effects. I still havent seen a real improvement. Actually its not even there apart from more detailed graphics.
Games like Heavenly Sword and MGS4 on the other hand do promise great improvements in AI, interaction and Physics from interviews I ve read that might make the games much more immersing and convincing. Some possible features sound extremely impressive, that, unlike 360, will improve the experience substantially not just from a static visual standpoint like more textures, polygons etc, but on how you can experiment with and feel the game enviroment.
Time will tell though.
Wii indeed is the only console that goes for a real different experience. I wonder how well it will do.

Hmm
I really do disagree. I can see very little difference between the two. Even games like Cell Factor has been cancelled for the PS3 for some reason. Rumors going abound saying they are having trouble applying the AGEIA physics engine to the PS3\'s architecture.
Past MGS4, I was really underwhelmed.

Just because the PS3 reads blue ray disks does not mean that every game will be released on blue ray. If the game would fit on a DVD, I would think they would just use that to save money on manufacturing.

is cell factor that splinter cell game?..if so that\'s a little disappointing. i\'m not a big splinter cell fan, but that game was lookin\' pretty impressive, at least visually...hmmm..methinks since the playstation brand will always have this type of hardware setup,..only those developers that have a long bankroll and polished programmers will be able to squeeze the maximum performance and effects outa the ps3...i\'m kinda jumpin\' the gun here, but we\'ll see...

Well yeah. That\'s obvious. Although I\'ve yet to see a PS2 game released on the CD-ROMs but I guess the games are much bigger so whatever. But my point was why is 360 the price of a blu-ray game when I\'m sure they could get away with selling them for 50 which it probably would cost them that.

Third Party developers are the ones that decided that. Basically, they want more money. Microsoft first party games are still $50.

I thought LOTR:BFME was dropping this month.
-
Summer is always a drought for videogames. Nothing but shit and maybe 1 or 2 good games for any console.

Donkey Kong Country was a Super Nintendo game........
K, thx.

Xbox360 backward compatibility comes to an end soon :
Nobody is concerned anymore about backwards compatibility. We under promised and over delivered on that. It\'s a very complicated thing... very complex work. I\'m just stunned that we have hundreds of games that are backwards compatible."
More are coming, but at some point, you just go, there\'s enough, let\'s move on, or people aren\'t as worried about a game being backwards compatible - and I like to think we\'ve upheld our end of the bargain in making at least two or maybe three hundred games backwards compat.[/I]

Personally I d say "we over promised and under delivered"

I\'m pretty sure Ninety Nine Nights is also due this month.

Last time I checked, it was June 1.

Yeah, I thought I read it was due this month. I just looked it up...coming out in August now. Hopefully they\'ll spend some time to make it better than the average game it is.
-
Bah! August. Oh well. At least it won\'t be pushed back a thousand times like FFXII.
-
Good thing I have Oblivion and probably another 100 hours to invest. june is going to be a long month.
