Title: iPod Going APE
Post by: videoholic on June 28, 2006, 02:22:09 AM
Anyone know if there are is any software or plugins out there to get the Ipod to play lossless files?  They sound so much better than MP3 files and as long as you don\'t have a little pussy 3 gig player you have plenty of room.

If you don\'t know what lossless is, google .APE or .FLAC

ipod plays Apple lossless and WAV.

I was planning on doing 100% apple lossless but you know what... it\'s just an ipod.  A crappy amp with sub-par audio processing.  I usually do 320kbps AAC for my favorite bands, 224 for the rest.

Oh and battery life will drain quicker the more the HD has to spin, meaning higher bitrates = less battery life. :\\

I like standard mp3s. They are fine for me. They aren\'t perfect but my Zen does an incredible job playing them. Creative Zen Micro...no substitute ;)
