Originally they were talking about 32 players in a game of resistance: fall of man, but that number is up to 40 now, which is pretty impressive in the console world. Anything over 16 is just gravy for me though.

depends how big the maps are..and on the gameplay. If its fast paced like CoD2, then 40 would be pretty fun (unless the maps are small..then itd be pretty annoying).
Im not that interested in resistance though..FPS\'s are coming out of the woodwork right now, and you need something special to get me to buy it..and aliens during WWII doesnt do it for me

It’s not set in WWII, WWII never takes place due to the spreading alien virus which can mutate any earth life form into alien one. You might say same difference but it promises to make for quite a bit of variety as far as enemies and their tactics go. If I’m not mistaken the game unfolds through out the 20th century beginning near WWI and there won’t be one fixed era to play in.
I’m with anyone thinking fps is a been there done that to death genre but if I had to choose one dev that I think could pull off making a worthwhile shooter that would likely stands head and shoulders above the rest it would have to be Insomniac.

I dont like the fact that they SLASHED the fps for MP. It used to be 60, now its down to 30fps, instead they added 8 players for MP and some effects.
Not liking the "next gen" development so far. :(
