If you are splitting your cable more than once or twice you probably need an amplifier in there, although an amplifier usually will make things like on-demand, ppv, etc not work properly (so in my house we split one to tv, then one to amp/splitter to another 3 tvs and cablemodem).
Also, plug the cable directly to your TV and watch it for a bit (no modem, splits), see if it still has a problem, if so call a tech in to check the line.

Let your cable company deal with it. THey will put an amp right at the source. You shouldn\'t have to pay for anything.

Depends on the company... some allow only say 2-3 cable outlets without charging more for them. Mine is 4, and extra you pay for, unless you do it yourself.....
In any event, good luck with that...

Had the same dam thing happen to ours, turned out squirels chewed the cable. Then when it rained the entire cable filled with water, took 5 times for the cable company to fix. They ended up giving us all new boxs as well.
You really should not have to pay for anything.

i remember the days when cable splitters were illegal.
you had to hope the cable repair guy didn\'t find them when he has over, and were at his mercy when he did.
-
Thats right i remember they would drive up and down street, monitoring signals.
-
those were the days of slipping the cable guy 20$ to get the titty channels for free too ~

Yep

Ah, the HBO cans. that was great/.
You really can\'t split much any more because you need a box on each tv. I have one box for our house that sends the same signal to all tvs. It\'s been fine for us so far, but I think I am going to have to splurge and get a couple more in the new house. Too many people.

slipping the cable person 20 bucks for more channles....sounds like a Jim carrey movie to me! Oh wait...It was! LOL
