I havent seen any of these I was just wondering if I should watch them in order or if i could just start in on the 4th? Im sure the 4th probably has alot more jokes that are more relevant than the 1st probably has, I know going back on alot of old parody movies their comedy seems mostly revolving around events that were happening at the time, so the jokes just aren\'t so fresh any more
-
I\'ve only seen the first one, and it was reasonably funny. See them in order.
-
I don\'t think I\'ve ever seen any of them, and I don\'t see that changing any time soon
-
if i were to take the title literally, then I would have to say the Excorcist.

that\'s what I was thinking when I saw the title, but when I read down, I was a bit disappointed.
If I was to do the same as you, I don\'t think I\'d have chosen the excorcist, for some reason, that flick never did anything for me, I used to get the shits a bit when I was a kid when I watched the first 2 amittyvile films.
I think I\'d have to go for the entity though off the top of my head.
There was also a film on tv once when I was a kid, I don\'t recall the name, and I only ever saw it once.
The storyline was about a family (mum, dad, son and 2 girls, they were in a car, the son tied the eldest girls shoelaces together, the car burst into flames, they all escaped except the girl who\'s shoelaces had been tied together, she was killed when the car blew up.
She came back to haunt them, she thew her brothers basketball on the roof, when he climbed out of the window to get it, she pushed him off the roof.
I also remember it for her dragging a pizza cutter down wall of the stairs.
I can remember details like that about it, but not what it was called, but that one freaked me out a bit

The first Scary Movie is actually a spoof of scary movies.
Yeah, there\'s some other pop culture references in there, but among the Scary Movie films it\'s definitely the closest to the concept.
Maybe I\'m just going by previews and I\'m way off-base, but SM4 appeared to be just a marketing thing. A known name to throw on a spoof movie so it would sell tickets.

i loved the 4th movie... especially when they rip on detroit...
my scariest movie i\'ve seen is signs though

Haha. Ditto. They don\'t seem to do anything for me.
-
My most favorite among the scary movies is scary Movies 2. Worst is Scary Movie 4. Scary Movie 4 is getting getting lame and boring, and they push it down to PG-13 instead of rated R since Scary Movie 3. Hence, the hilarious parts also tune down too...

they all suck donkeyballs...
-
THey are extremely unfunny. I\'ve seen 1 and part of two. Previews alone kept me away from the other 2.
-
haven\'t seen part 4....but i\'d have to say part 2 was the best...it started gettin\' kinda weak in the the third one....square you say the scariest movie you\'ve seen is signs?....i know it\'s your opinion,..but damn, mel gibson and crew was puttin me to sleep in that one. as far as horror joints are concerned there was a movie that was released in america about a year ago made by some french firm...the movie in question had so much potential but it had loopholes all over the place when it came to the ending...i created a thread about it, but now i can\'t even remember the name of it...:p
-
first 2 sucked, then David Zucker did 3 and it was good, 4 wasn\'t as good but it was better than the first 2.
-
I haven\'t seen 3 or 4 but if they\'re anything like the first 2, then they will suck, for the most part...
-
The first 2 were made by those brothers who\'s name escapes me but there\'s alot of them, they had nothing to do with the 3rd as it was made by David Zucker so it\'s a whole lot different.
-
farrely(sp) brothers?
-
Wayans Bros...
-
I know the Wayans bros were in it, didn\'t know they made it.
-
i finally remembered that flick i was tryin\' to recollect a few posts up,...high tension...movie started off strong and the climax?...all i can say is that they tried to give the movie a twist, but failed miserably....shame because that movie has so much potential.
-
I didnt like them much. Some humor in it is plain stupid. Sometimes you might laugh at the stupidity which was the movie\'s aim. Some parts make you laugh a bit but its not the kind of movie that will make you want to see it again.
Its not bad if you want to kill time.
Probably the best movies I ve ever seen that are parodies of other movies were Hot Shots 1&2 and Mafia.
Definetely go see these. Especially Hot Shots 1 and 2

In terms of \'scare factor\' I would definately have to say Wolf Creek. On the other hand I really enjoyed Silent Hill. Sure, the script sucked and it was full of Annie Lennox looking dykes but it definately had some pretty disturbing (ableit funny) moments.

way to read the thread Racer

Wolf creek sucked, they showed that towing scene for no joke 30 mins.
