What\'s up? Long time no see. Hopefully at least some of you guys still remember me. For those who don\'t remember me, I used to write for Psx2Central back when there was a site and all that jazz.
I\'ll admit it, I\'m a schmuck for not coming by more. But, I have an excuse. I\'ve been busy with a full-time job traveling (crossing of 45 of 50 states) and pursuing my writing over at psxextreme.com and gaminghorizon.com.
So my big news is that I have been hired by Gamespot as their newest associate editor. It\'s a full-time gig working in their San Francisco offices. I don\'t start in the office until Sept 18th, but I\'ve done my first review for them and have a few more I\'m working on. You can check it out here if you want:
http://www.gamespot.com/xbox/driving/worldracing2/review.html?sid=6156909&tag=recent_updates;title;2 (http://www.gamespot.com/xbox/driving/worldracing2/review.html?sid=6156909&tag=recent_updates;title;2)
Psx2Central is where I got my start. Bjorn found my first review on GameFaqs (FIFA Soccer for the Japanese PS2) and asked me if I wanted to join the site. I dreamed of one day making it a career, but never really thought it would happen, but for some reason, I just kept working at it, and now I\'ve done it.
So I just wanted to thank everyone that made this site great back in the day, and thank you for always being cool to me.

Holy shit, congratulation\'s there Aaron.
Keep us filled in. How\'s the corporate world as opposed to the indie website market?
:)
Remember your roots, you sell out!
Just curious, how did you come about the Gamespot job?
-
Thanks LIC.
My girlfriend and I moved out to Mountain View, CA in May. She had gotten a job out here and I knew the only way I was going to catch on with a big gaming site. I had interviewed with IGN a couple of times, but not living in the area kept me from getting the job (even though I was willing to move).
A guy that I\'ve written with for years freelances for Gamespot and heard of an opening, so I applied. I interviewed four times for this position, did a sample video review, and wrote the review I linked to earlier as a test for the position.
It seems like it\'s going to be a great place to work. Everyone there has been really nice to me, and the offices are just as cool as you\'d imagine them to be.
-
Congratulations man. I wish you the best :)

You mean......
There really is candy bars and strippers in a work enviroment?
:D

I guess I should have said they were as cool as I thought they would be. :)
Everyone\'s desk is crammed with cool gaming crap, and bunch of consoles. I walked in and everyone was either hard at work writing or sitting with their feet up on the desk playing a game. They have a cool demo room where companies come by to show off the latest builds, and a huge library of games lining the hallways.

Damn, sounds like a dream job for a gamer, paid to play, even only some of the time. Hope it all works out for ya, and you have a long and fruitfull career there.
-
Wow...congrats, man. Glad to hear you\'re doing good. Nice work with the Gamespot position. :thumb:

We all want free gold accounts to download the fucking HD videos :P

Haha. That\'s one of the benefits I\'m looking forward to, though I guess working there I probably won\'t be watching too much stuff.
-
awesome aaron, good luck with it!
-
The main question is, how\'s the bling? You gonna be sporting a BMW now? Or gonna still be riding in a beat up Ford Focus?
;)
-
They pay very well, which is just icing on the cake. Of course it\'s in San Fran so "pays very well" doesn\'t go as far as you think it might. I live 30 miles south of the city right now and I pay $1419 a month for a one bedroom place in a decent area.

You should be happy that the real estate bubble in the US is about to deflate then, soon you\'ll be able to snap up some cheaper property with your newfound wealth.
-
Heh, review seemed very solid. "Maybe if the controls in World Racing 2 weren\'t so wonky, this wouldn\'t happen so often." Lols.
Congrats bitch!

-
I miss you Aaron.
...soooooooooo much...
We should get away together! Just like the old times. Before all this.. this.. girlfriend business. She doesn\'t understand you like I do.. no one can.. no one ever can...
The children ask about you some times. They want to know where they come from. I don\'t know what I\'m supposed to tell them anymore. Originally it was a weekend away fishing, then a week at dental school.. eventually it evolved into an inter-gender sojourn to find the inner you in poverty stricken East-India. For Gods sake, they\'re 23 years old and are starting to see through the charade! Please come home soon..
I need you.
-
LOL.:lmao:
You should be a comedian. You have really good grammars and really good use of vocabulary, and your sense of humor are so hilarious.
-
Hmmm, on second thought, don\'t tell Bobby Hardware that I stopped by. He seems to be having some issues coping with me being gone. :)

That is the funniest shit I\'ve read on an internet forum, lol. Made me spit out my water. Bitch.
