no, wheres the anisotropic filtering?
look at the 3rd pic, why is the pavement blurry 6\' away from the camera?

What\'s the point of asking "Are these good enough for you ?" With all respect for Insomniac, but i don\'t think this game is qualified to be PS3 eye candy embassador. (Aside from the fetishistic focus on \'pc game-ish\' graphics criteria like Aniso, high rez, AA etc.)
The game does not not portray some very important GPU feats yet. Sure, this particular game probably boasts some nice gameplay feats, but it doesn\'t show :
- subsurface scattering nor a method which mimics the effect
- substantially more polygons per character
- convincing realtime motion blur
- depth of field
etc.
Hitman Bloodmoney on PC incorporates a very nifty feat which isn\'t real subsurface scattering but which mimics it in a very charming way ; skin which looks like vivid skin and earlobes which look slightly translucent when they\'re facing a lightsource.
Next gen consoles and GPU\'s should be able to pump out at least 10k poly characters. These Resistance models look just shy of such a number.
Even though it\'s a totally different type of game, this Fight Night PS3 screenshot features some very nice use of new shader techniques for human skin (of which subsurface scattering is one technique). The polygon count is also high enough becuz the contours do not really stick out anymore like angular.

Even MGS4\'s preview material hasn\'t even showed any hint at such high end gpu feats.

This game is like taking two tired, cliched sub-genres and mushing them together.
I\'m excited and bored all at once.

That city shot reminds me of Oblivion, only Resistance looks better. :)
Damn pity Sony decided to RAPE Europe. I would have loved playing this game in co-op on november 17. :(

Looks very very nice just not mindblowing but it certaintly looks better than most other FPS including COD2.
I think too much LOD kind of ruins this game\'s looks in these pics.

It\'s coming along, but the textures still need work in some areas.

Why ask... cause I think people here who are not impressed are crazy.
everything is just peachy just the way it is. Soldiers are wearing different equipment, not just repeated models. Shadowing is quite awesome, smoke effects fire effects. draw distance
but oh well I laughing

Yeah MotorStorm is very impressive. The game shows a HUGE jump from the GDC build we saw before E3.

Don\'t blindly jump to conclusions, my initial reaction too was"Bah not another shooter,no way im gonna buy this one"
However, after reading IGN\'s latest hands on, my attitude towards this game changes drastically.This game and a new budget LCD HDTV capable is forming on my plan.
With 400 death animations alone, ragdoll physics,super large monsters threatening in an FPS shooter,i really need to get this.Not to mention 2 player co-op without a drop in framerate,graphics and lightings.

Metal Gear bores the hell out of me. I don\'t have the patience for sneaking and the characters don\'t do anything for me. I tried Twin Snakes and gave up pretty early on. I heard the second one was trying too hard to be clever and I\'ve seen the jungle one, but that doesn\'t do it for me either.
Not my genre, I guess. Splinter Cell isn\'t my bag either, though I did go 3/4 of the way through Manhunt (which real spy game fans hated).
This one looks like it has nice graphics, though...

the third one kind of fixed the whole linear gameplay. Obviously its not as open as some games but its way less linear than the first two (the second one was pretty much identical to the first one).
I havent played it for a while, but from what i remember, you could do objectives in different orders and there were optional ones, but if u didnt do them ur completion percentage went down the drain..not that big of a deal though.
I actually got lost on the ship in the first er second mission..not sure if anyone\'s played it.

While the haters see that as it\'s weakness, alot of fans hail that linearity as it\'s strength. Personally I found Chaos Theory to be the weakest.
The 4th game, SC DA should revive SC1 goodness and break with the old mold at the same time by means of the double agent concept ; the element of trust to both sides and making realtime decisions which provide both story branching and gameplay branching.
I just read some new MGS4 plot info and even though we know Kojima for some time ..... the supposedly interview hints at some mind boggling twists again.
