Title: Has anyone seen the movie (or film) Brotherhood of War?
Post by: GmanJoe on September 15, 2006, 03:48:58 AM
It\'s a Korean movie about the Korean War.

I think it\'s much much better than Saving Private Ryan (although I loved that movie, too). Although the dramatics do stretch a bit between the two brothers....it did pull on my heart strings a bit.

I highly recommend renting this movie from the Foriegn Film/Movie section. Or just buy directly from Sony Pictures (less than $13 incl. shipping).

Yeah, I\'ve seen it. And as far as I can remember, it didn\'t impress me too greatly.

But there are a lot of cool Asian movies out there. Most movie buffs have already seen them, but check out movies like Oldboy and Infernal Affairs (and a ton more).

I thought it was quite impressive myself. I think you\'re the few who didn\'t like it (actually, I\'m quite surprised you thought it wasn\'t impressive with the all spectacular details of the war, hell, it even had a WW2 vintage Corsair used as a dive bomber and strafer).

hmmm 79% on RT.. I\'ll add it to the netflix queue.

I saw Oldboy, it was different, it was gritty, but I thought it was stupid.  I saw the twist before it came and the plot devices were so over the top I stopped caring about the characters and just wanted it to end.  To each his own...

I can\'t wait to see the Martin Scorsese remake of Infernal Affairs opening in two weeks.

Mob Boss = Jack Nicholson
Mob Informant = Matt Damon
Police Boss = Martin Sheen
Undercover Cop = Leonardo Dicaprio

A great concept and flick remade with top-notch actors seems like a can\'t lose in my opinion.
