I dont really expect a price drop, because if price is an option for people to decide between a PS3 and a 360, then theyve already decided on the 360. (i decided on a 360 because i dont care about no HD-DVD..not getting the addon,). But i also dont want to buy one now and then have a price drop. They also wouldnt say anything till the last minute because then people wouldnt buy a 360 till the price drop.
im an optimistic bastard, so part of me thinks that they will. They said production costs could go down, and theres been rumors of a price drop a year after release (was released last november), or when ps3 is released. conveniently, ps3 is released in november..
what do u think?

Keeping in mind they want to push their format as much as possible, I wouldn\'t be surprised to see a package deal whereby the 360 and HD-DVD drive will sell this Christmas for less than both combined would sell for (perhaps even much less). But I doubt the 360 unit by itself will get a drop.

I didn\'t vote because I don\'t know for sure really. but I did read on a recent news that around January 2007, Microsoft will decrease the size of the CPU to 65 nm from 90 nm for their xbox360, which should decrease the cost of the console too.

I don\'t see a price drop outside Japan at this time. Sony will sell its shipment regardless this year, it wouldn\'t make Microsoft more money to do that.
I would drop the price next summer/fall, possibly to coincide somewhat with the release of a big PS3 game.
