It\'s going to be a Wii60 Christmas. I bought an X360 Premium with Dead Rising last night.
Pre-ordered Gears of War while I was at it!
So far, I\'m enjoying Dead Rising. The graphics are definitely beyond Xbox/GCN on my (relatively) small SDTV. Damn that small font, though.

damn you for supporting having fun

Yes! Well, what really pushed me (beside the massive amount of really cool looking games coming) was the idea of upgrading my PC for $500-1000 when PC developers are seeing the upside of X360 for $400.
Japanese developers aren\'t exactly flocking to it, but they are moreso than Xbox, and I have the Wii for innovative Japanese fare anyway. A poster on the Evil Avatar boards graphed out the exclusives for each console, and the PS3 ironically has the least of all 3. The Wii60 is the most well-rounded 1-2 punch, and the cheapest duo.
Yeah, I want Blu-Ray, but hell. I can wait.
After seeing what Remedy plans to do with Alan Wake (one of my most anticipated titles) on multiple CPU cores, I cringe at what I\'d have to spend to get my PC into shape. X360 already has 3 cores at a nice clockspeed, which is reassuring.

I am with Blade on this one

\'grats on the system, I\'m sure it\'s worth every penny.
The 360 is tempting, but just isn\'t worth it for me. Every game I\'m interested in is on the PC. When Halo comes out it will be a different story.

I was there about a week ago, THX. I mean, ideally PC parts would be cheaper and I\'d go that route.
It\'s just too much right now, where I am in my life. I used almost entirely EB credit (off of numerous trade-ins including Xbox and GCN consoles) to buy the 360. Something that I couldn\'t really do to upgrade my PC. Without a hassle, anyway.

I, too, got an Xbox360 because I was tired of upgrading my PC. I think you\'ll enjoy it. Hell, I was tired of console/gaming before I got it, but now I have like 14 games. And I don\'t even think I\'ve had it for two months (but to be fair like 6 of the games are Xbox games, since I never owned one of those).
Get Saints Row if you\'re into that genre. It\'ll tide you over nicely until GTA4 is released. :)
-
I played a "lot" of GTA3, less of VC, none of SA, and I immensely enjoyed GTA1 and GTA2.
Needless to say, the "Saint\'s Row is a copy of GTA, but more polished" reviews are actually a good thing for me. It\'s a possibility.
I have to admit that I bought DR for $49 used. I just can\'t stomach paying $60 per game right now.
-
Yea the $60 pricetag keeps me from buying games. I\'ve only purchased Fight Night since launch.
I got Saints Row as a gift and a few 2K Sports games from the company (yawn), but other than that I\'ve been buying Arcade games from time to time.
If I can justify parting with the money in the face of the Wii launch, I\'m thinking of Assassin\'s Creed for 360 and Okami for PS2....
Expensive hobby, eh? :)

I too took the plunge and the motherfucker didn\'t work, go fucking figure!!!! The place I bought it from wasn\'t going to return it for me either because MS and Sony have been giving them duds, luckily with some persuasion they gave me another one, hopefully this one works
-
Well, Viva Pinata looks good, and goes for $50. There are some player\'s choice titles now (Rare\'s launch games and a few others) that go for $30 or less.
For the most part, I have the X360 for mostly its best exclusives and the PC/X360 games that my PC won\'t be up to par for. So chances are, by the time the dust settles, my X360 will have a smaller library than my Wii.
Understandable, given prices... preferences.
I\'m about 3 hours into Dead Rising and loving it BTW. A little repetitive, but most games have that problem.

You know, you can get games second-hand. ;)
That\'s what I do. No way I\'ll pay full price. $30 or below is more like it. :)

Good point. I haven\'t checked lately. Around here, used games weren\'t much better.
-
most used games iv seen are still like 54 bucks..the 40 dollar ones are like 34.
Then again, iv only gone to the big stores like EB.
Im also kind of iffy on buying used games..kind of anal about how my cd\'s are treated.

I\'m on a Danish Xbox360 forum and I only buy my stuff from other members. Because I know a lot of them and also there\'s a seller/buyer rating for each member, so you can check out their comments before doing any business with them. I\'ve not had any bad surprices so far.

I thought about getting a WII but I decided to continue upgrading my PC (I may still end up with one though). There are alot of pc games I am looking foward to.
-
What PC games are coming out?
Operation Flashpoint 2 and Battlefield 2142 (not buying 2142 since its too much the same as BF2) is all i know
-
....I want a wii
-
want to play with mine?
-
Oh stop it :gfight:

Not sure on the numbers for PS3 in terms of exclusives, but the ones it does have are the ones that make me want the console so having the fewest is not a bad thing if almost every one of those are must haves. Just my .02 on that comment.
Grats on your purchase though. :) Welcome to nextgen.
