Not the Biggest Blockbusters (http://www.ps3news.ca/11102006/11/more_major_ps3_titles_delayed), but still some very anticipated titles are getting pushed back. Delays from \'this holiday season\' to first quarter 2007.
Games include Oblivion, F.E.A.R, Sonic, and NBA live 2007.

In Sonic\'s case, hopefully they\'re using the time to develop it further. Hopefully that\'s the case with all the games rather than just positioning for the most money or waiting for a lag in the release schedule.
It\'d be nice to see the system backed up by some worthwhile games.

The game won\'t be changing much, but they apparently want to work on the online functionality of Sonic.
In other news, it\'s now been confirmed that PS3\'s online system will be \'one logon universal,\' as opposed to the previous game-by-game type.

NBA Live 07 isn\'t a big launch title... it\'s actually not even a title for PS3 anymore. Basically, the game got such poor reviews, EA decided to do us a favor and not release it for the PS3.

I think FEAR might be the only one to take some hits in sales from it, just because FPS\'s are coming out the woodwork.

Way to have an uninformed opinion already made. Are you proud to make a statement like that?
I did note that they aren\'t the \'biggest blockbusters\' but both F.E.A.R and Sonic have fairly large fan bases based on forums/posts I\'ve seen, and thus will be seen as a disappointing delay.

Now that I know the launch games can I bitch?
The point of my post, other than to take a jab at sony and inadvertently you, was that if these are the anticipated games, blockbusters or no, thats kind of sad. FEAR and oblivion are both already on other platforms and have been for quite some time. EA can blow me so their game doesn\'t count and all I hear from the peanut gallery is how good Sonic could be if they spent more time on it.
With all that said, RR7 should prove to be fun but not worth the price of admission.

I do enjoy it when my posts are not just read, but provoke at lease a bit of thought.
That said, I don\'t see why anyone would be proud to post something in which they base an opinion on... not knowing something - and admitting it.
I also hate it when people don\'t read a post or comment on a specific part of a sentence (out of context anyone)?
But hey, to each their own, there\'s an ignore button for a reason, and if you don\'t like my style of posting enough then you should just turn off my posts and not worry about it.

You still don\'t get it do you. My opinion isn\'t that launch titles are going to suck, although I could make an argument for it. I have no opinion on the launch titles seeing as I\'ve seen very little info on them. I was merely making a statement, a sarcastic one at that. I just wanted to call out the fact, you AND the article both refer to those titles as major and very anticipated and in all actuality most of those titles are NOT the anticipated games of launch (at least for the general public). The fact NBA 07 was mentioned made me want to punch myself in the face (note: I don\'t actually want to punch myself in the face, this is an exaggeration, you know what that is Fatal?). Sweet mother of christ you are dense.

That puts you way below the average.
One would think that a logical, reasoning and mature person such as yourself could decipher such easily recognizable examples of sardonic quips. My only guess is that you\'re delusional, and your parents are to blame. Coming home after a long day at school, with all the other children making fun of you for being nightmarishly grotesque, and mind-shatteringly dim-witted, you run in through the doors screaming and crying. Comforted only by some literature and pamphlets your parents provide you with detailing why other children make fun of you; due to their own insecurities. Poor people. At least their heart was in the right place.
So keep hiding behind this wall of studies and research (which really only serve to prove that you\'re well below the average) if you wish, but you\'re not fooling anyone.

I agree that I don\'t see anything very exciting about the PS3 launch titles. I\'m reading threads on other forums about people who are planning to camp out, and I can\'t help thinking... why? Which launch title are you so itching to play, that it justifies camping on a sidewalk for 48 hours? I don\'t understand it.

i think its more for the system than any specific game to play on it right now. especially since theyll probably all be sold out and be 1000 bucks on ebay.
but..Theyre just going to make it feel like MGS doesnt come out for a couple years since thats probably all theyre waiting for.

I think a lot of the people camping out are not camping to own, but to sell. This system is going to sell for at least 50% more than you pay for it, if not double, and that has to be attractive to people who want some extra cash before this holiday season.

There are perhaps 3 games that are really looking like popular titles, with Resistance being top of the list. Include the holiday releases, and based on what I\'ve seen in PS forums, probably another 2, so five games that people might want, at least a few of which are niche games. With the new year there will be a lot of highly anticipated titles coming out, and I think that\'s when you\'ll see the majority of fans (not die-hard fans) pick up their PS3s, with less demand and more titles.
My prediction? Launch sells out with a big percentage reselling to die-hards who miss the boat. Demand will remain high until March or April when production and games bring the console within reach of the casual Sony or PS fans, and those waiting for specific titles.

i think why some people buy ps3 on launch date or buy early have to do with blu ray movie playback. Hey, its the most inexpensive blu ray players out there compare to standalone blu ray players that can\'t play game nor does it have hdmi v1.3 as of now.
and there are already some nice blu ray movie titles coming out, don\'t forget a few already is or planning to come out in dual layers format.

Not that we would ever get the chance here in South Africa, but, I wouldn\'t know either... games seems to have lost something... Nintendo are the only guys left that do the odd game that excites me like the new Zelda. Capcom and Konami are not too bad either, but things have changed because of dumbass companies like EA and Ubisoft... I hate that everything has gone so commercial.

that launch list is still a bit underwhelming,...there\'s nothin\' there that i would cop on day one...only tru game i\'m waiting for is on this current gen...and that\'s god of war 2...as far as ps3 is concerned i kinda like fear and heavenly sword...madden 07 is garbage is 2k5 still plays better than that rehashed p.o.s.

Indeed, missing are : Heavenly Sword, Motor Storm, F1 06, Armored Core 4 (although it\'s multiplatform), Virtua Fighter 5.
I wouldn\'t buy a PS3 within now and a year.
